Blizzard's classic game sequel, Overwatch 2, closed beta testing will officially begin on April 26

Activision Blizzard continues to try to re-establish itself after months of shocking legal charges. After being announced by Microsoft, it has been working on reorganizing the company's game IP assets and making new plans.

Recently, Blizzard has announced that its previously promised Overwatch 2 closed beta will be launched on April 26, covering 5v5 mode and new heroes.

Blizzard revealed earlier this month that it intends to "decouple" Overwatch 2's PvP and PvE modes and begin a series of multiplayer-focused tests that game director Aaron Keller rather described as some sort of generous treat for content-starved Overwatch 1 players.

At the time, Keller explained that developers would first be open to Blizzard employees and Overwatch esports professionals for short closed testing, and then begin a limited-scale closed test of new features, content, and systems at the end of April. In the future testing phase, the openness to more players will be stress tested.

Blizzard has now given the official start date for the first Overwatch 2 closed beta, which will begin on April 26, including overwatch 2's 5v5 game, as well as four new maps — the escort map Circuit Royal, the hybrid map Midtown, and the New Queen Screen and Colosseo. In addition, it will have a new hero, Sojourn, a redesign of the existing four heroes, Orisa, Doomfist, Bastion, and Sombra, as well as a new Ping system.

Those who meet the conditions and wish to participate during the Overwatch 2 closed beta can make an appointment by registering on the official website. Participants must possess Overwatch 1 and will be selected based on specific criteria, including regional and machine specifications, and successful applicants will receive their invitation email.

After Activision Blizzard announced the closed beta of Overwatch 2, the publisher has released a flurry of news in recent months, including news of a new mobile Warcraft IP game and a brand new survival game.
