Zhou Dunyi's "Taiji Tushu" breaks the true meaning of life in the universe

Tai Chi Tu is a circular pattern composed of two fish-shaped patterns in black and white, commonly known as yin and yang fish. This word first appeared in the "Yi Chuan Zhi Zhi Shang". Taiji is an ancient Chinese philosophical term meaning the origin of all things. The Tai Chi Diagram visualizes the philosophy that its yin and yang rotation, on the contrary, phase formation is the root of the change of all things.

Tai Chi graphics show a kind of mutual transformation, relatively unified formal beauty, harmonious beauty. It later developed into a "beautiful" structure unique to the Chinese national pattern. Such as "happy encounter", "luan phoenix and ming", "dragon and phoenix chengxiang", etc. are all vivid and beautiful auspicious patterns composed of one up and one down, one positive and one negative, which are very popular among the people.

"Taiji Tushu" is a philosophical work by the Song Dynasty philosopher Zhou Dunyi, and the full text is only 249 words. Inspired by the "Biography of Zhou Yi", Zhou Dunyi explained his cosmology in the "Taiji Diagram", "Taiji is born of infinity, Taiji moves and gives birth to yang, and moving poles and statics." Static pole complex movement, one movement and one static, each other as their roots; yin and yang, two instruments stand up. ”

1. Wuji and Tai Chi. Taiji moves and gives birth to yang, moving pole and static, static and yin, static pole complex. One movement and one stillness, each other as its roots; divided into yin and yang, two instruments stand up. The yang becomes yin and yin, and the water, fire, wood, gold, and earth, the five qi are smooth, and the four hours are traveled. Five elements and one yin and yang also, yin and yang one tai chi also, tai chi ben wuji also.

Wuji and Taiji are two concepts in ancient Chinese philosophy, the ancients believed that the beginning of the formation of the universe began from a piece of "chaos", is static, no direction, no time, there is no specific form of matter; this chaotic state is called "Wuji", after that, gradually formed the heavens and the earth, and various specific forms of matter, after continuous development and evolution, the formation of today's world, the world is always in motion, constantly changing. Then the process from the original infinity of stillness to the beginning of things to grow and change is called "Tai Chi".

In short, when everything has not yet arisen, it is called "wuji", and the stage of germination in which everything begins to occur is called "taiji"; so wuji is emptiness and stillness; tai chi is the birth and will move.

"Tai Chi" moves, it produces yang, moves to the pole and then calms down, so it gives birth to yin, static to the pole and then moves, one movement and one static, each other as the fundamental, differentiating into yin and yang. The interaction of yin and yang produces the five elements and all things.

2. The birth of the five elements is also one of its own nature. The truth of infinity, the essence of two and five, the wonderful combination and condensation. "Qian Dao becomes a man, Kun Dao becomes a woman." The sympathetic feeling of the two qi, the incarnation of all things, the birth of all things, and the endless changes.

The nature of the five elements of gold, wood, water, fire, and earth is different. Wood has the characteristics of growth, bending and stretching, and rising; fire has the characteristics of heating, warmth and upward; soil has the characteristics of carrier and biochemistry; gold represents the properties of solids; water has the characteristics of moisturizing, falling down and hiding.

The essence of yin and yang and the five elements comes from the ingenious combination and condensation of yin and yang. "Qian Dao becomes a man, Kun Dao becomes a woman", the two qi sympathetic, incarnate all things.

Erqi refers to the yin and yang two qi, the fusion of the two temperaments to give birth to all things. That is, some things are too strong, some are too weak, and some are more moderate.

All things are endless, and because of the combination of all things, they produce all kinds of things, so their changes are endless.

3. Only man is also the most beautiful and the most spiritual. Form is born, God is aware, the five natures are moved, and good and evil are divided, and all things are out of order. The saints set it in the form of righteousness and righteousness [Self-note: The way of the saints, benevolence and righteousness are justified], and the Lord Jing [self-note: no desire is quiet], and established people as extremes.

Of all things, only man, who has the essence of all things and the most aura, man is the essence of all things.

Man is constantly combined and born of all things, and acquires knowledge by his thoughts, the five natures can be understood as the five natures of the five elements, and man can understand the nature of gold, wood, water, fire, and earth from a perceptual point of view, such as goodness like water. Through the perceptual understanding of the five natures, man distinguishes between good and evil, and because of the definition of good and evil and the distinction between size and size, everything is born.

The sage defines human nature (or the five natures) as the Righteousness of righteousness, and sets the rules for us to do things and practice.

4. Therefore, the saint "is in harmony with the heavens and the earth, the sun and the moon are in harmony with its clarity, the four hours are in harmony with its order, and the ghosts and gods are in harmony with their auspiciousness", the gentleman's cultivation is auspicious, and the villain's rebellion is fierce. Therefore, it is said: "The way to establish heaven, yin and yang." The way to stand on the ground, soft and rigid. The way to establish a human being is to know benevolence and righteousness. He also said: "The primitive is the opposite of the end, so I know the theory of death and life." "Oh easy, siqi to the end!"

Therefore, the virtue of the saint is as great as the face of heaven and earth, the saint is like the sun and the moon that can shine in the human world, the way of doing things of the saint is as orderly as spring, summer, autumn and winter, and the auspiciousness of the saint is like the world looking at the ghosts and gods.

Gentlemen cultivate this way of life, so the principle of life is auspicious, and the villain goes against this way of doing things and the principle of life is more evil.

Therefore, the Zhou Yi said that the way to establish heaven is yin and yang; the way to establish the earth is soft and rigid; and the way to establish people is benevolence and righteousness.

In layman's terms, this sentence can be understood as the combination of yin and yang, and everything in the universe is composed of two elements, yin and yang, and qi. The environment in which we live, the earth, is a combination of rigidity and softness, and everything on the earth has the characteristics of softness and rigidity. The typical example is that the mountain is rigid and the water is soft. In the interaction between people, benevolence and righteousness are the first, and only by stressing benevolence and righteousness can we gain a foothold in society, otherwise people's values will be chaotic and society will be chaotic.

It is also said: "The primitive is the opposite of the end, so I know the theory of death and life." "Oh easy, siqi to the end!"

The cycle from beginning to end is explored, so you can know the truth of life and death. The great "Zhou Yi" exhausted the supreme way of heaven and earth people, and is the ultimate way of the universe!
