The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has warned that if food exports from Ukraine and Russia are blocked for a long time, the number of undernourished people in the world may increase from 8 million to 13 million.

60% of Total Lebanese Wheat Consumption comes from Ukraine and Russia. Under the current circumstances, Lebanon can only buy wheat from the countries of the Americas.

Lebanese economist Eli Yakuri: [The Russian-Ukrainian crisis] will evolve into Lebanon's own crisis, for example, the price of one kilogram of flour in the past was 1,000 or 2,000 Lebanese pounds, and then it may rise to 40,000 Lebanese pounds. These two countries are vital in wheat exports, and pasta is the most important staple food for the Lebanese people.
