With the improvement of the level of science and technology, the car is no longer a simple means of transportation, it can also be a carrier of intelligent terminals and audio-visual entertainment equipment. At CES 2019, Holoride, audi's in-vehicle VR service provider, demonstrated the in-vehicle VR technology it brings. Just recently, Audi announced that it will integrate Holoride virtual reality technology into its own models this year. The technology is designed to bring more fun to the people in the car on the go by using VR or XR (Extended Reality) technology.

According to Audi, the addition of the Holoride VR system allows passengers to experience movies, video games and other interactive content, turning the ride into a fun game activity. Devices powered by Holoride technology will connect to the vehicle via Bluetooth low energy, so they can sense the vehicle's movements to provide a more immersive experience. For example, when an Audi vehicle makes a right turn, the vehicle in the VR game will also turn right. If the car accelerates, the in-game vehicle accelerates as well.

Audi will provide new features to the vehicle by introducing a third-generation modular infotainment system (MIB 3) integrated with Holoride technology, which will be launched with select models in June 2022. These mass-produced Audi cars include cars such as the A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, and SUVs such as the Audi Q5, Q7, Q8, e-Tron and e-Tron GT Quattro. The software update will be available for the entire European market as well as for the above-mentioned vehicles in Canada, the United States, Japan and China.

At this year's CES 2022, Holoride announced a partnership with HTC in which the Vive Flow headset will become Holoride's designated VR device. In the promotional map previously released by Holoride, the products displayed by Holoride include: Oculus Rift, mobile phone VR box series, Pico Neo 3 and other products, and the addition of HTC Vive Flow headsets also makes the devices supported by Holoride more abundant.
