What if in daily use, in the scenario of office and file transfer, how does the external storage performance of the MSI Claw handheld game console?
Use two types of cables to connect the MSI Claw handheld gaming console to the SSD enclosure, and both of them can be recognized and read normally.
The USB 2.0 cable was used to connect the gaming handheld to the hard disk enclosure for two-way transmission and testing, and the 12.09GB test material files were transferred from the hard disk to the game handheld, and the data was transferred from the handheld to the hard disk wired.
After the two-way transfer test was completed, there was no significant difference in the total time taken between the two, both of which were about 4 minutes and 46.84 seconds, and the actual speed was about 43MB/s, which is about the USB 2.0 transfer specification.
A USB4 cable was used to connect the gaming handheld to the hard disk enclosure, and a 12.09GB test file was also used for two-way transmission.
After the two-way transmission test is completed, there is no significant difference in the total time consumption between the two, both are about 8.08 seconds, and the actual conversion rate is about 1533MB/s, which does not reach the transmission bandwidth of the Thunderbolt 4 interface specification. The reason may be that the actual file transfer bandwidth of USB4 enclosure and cable is limited by 22Gbps, as well as transmission loss and insufficient power supply of the interface. However, such a transfer speed is more than enough for daily needs such as transferring files, videos, etc.
Therefore, if you use a storage device connected to a wired connection such as a portable hard disk enclosure, on the one hand, you need to confirm whether the game handheld can provide the power to meet the transmission requirements of the hard disk enclosure, and on the other hand, you need to confirm the specifications of the connection cable, and try to use USB4 or even Thunderbolt 4 and other specifications of the cable to have a better storage and transmission experience.
