IT House March 8 news, Apple today received a "lock electronic tracking device" patent authorization.
The State Intellectual Property Office shows that the purpose of this design product is a tracking or positioning device; the design point of the product is the combination of the shape and color of the product.
As can be seen from the patented exterior drawing, the device resembles an AirTag with a lock, and it's unclear if it will be introduced.
IT Home learned that Apple AirTag debuted at the 2021 Apple Spring New Product Launch, where users can hang AirTag on bags, keys or other items, and then find their location in the "Items" tab in the "Find" App (Airtag's last networked positioning). If the item is within Bluetooth range, the Find For app can make the AirTag play a sound.
However, the current AirTag is just a disc that can be paired with a variety of lock accessories. The new patent shows that AirTag seems to be integrated with the lock buckle, or Apple will launch an official AirTag lock.
