The 2022 "Gongmei Outstanding Cup" Guangzhou Female Arts and Crafts Artists Creation Exhibition will be exhibited in the exhibition hall of Wenming Road City Yigong during the "March 8" International Women's Day, and will be exhibited until March 31.
The exhibition solicits outstanding female craftsmen in Guangzhou, holds a fine exhibition of female craftsmen in the Guangzhou Workers Exhibition Hall, and carries out offline exhibitions of "traditional + fashion" works with traditional intangible cultural heritage projects such as embroidery, paper cutting, flowers and fashion customization works.
In the exhibition, the contemporary rebirth of traditional crafts has become the focus of the creation of many craftsmen. For example, Huang Huixiong's "Colorful Kapok" has a core size of about 45X65cm, using jacquard silk, Dong cloth, pure cotton soil cloth, silk cotton blend and other fabrics, as well as natural dyes such as indigo, gardenia, and sumu, with the process of plant dyeing and gray valerian, which is permeated with a strong natural atmosphere, and the traditional flavor is organically integrated with today's aesthetic fashion.
Huang Huixiong introduced that the work is based on the theme of Guangzhou Flower Kapok, creating a pop art style fabric painting. The folded kapok shape borrows from the techniques of white drawing and paper cutting, and the lines are concise and full of a sense of power that competes to bloom. Indigo, gardenia, and sumu dyes are dyed in traditional Chinese colors such as Buddha blue, oil green, apricot yellow, purple, and purple red according to the ancient method. Four kapok sheets of different colors and different temperaments are combined into one work in the shape of a field character, which means to praise Guangzhou as an open and diverse metropolis, where tradition and trend culture blend, and both orderly and dare to innovate.
