U.S. Secretary of State Blinken visited Europe from March 3 to 8, including Belgium, Poland, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and France. On the 7th, US Secretary of State Blinken held a press conference with the Lithuanian foreign minister in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. At the meeting, Blinken said the United States was strengthening NATO's eastern flank in response to Russia's armed operations in Ukraine, including more troops, F-35 fighter jets, and other important equipment to the Baltic states. NATO is reviewing its own defensive posture and studying additional military deployments, including more permanent ones. Blinken also reaffirmed U.S. commitment to NATO Clause V, saying that an attack on one country is an attack on all NATO countries, and if NATO territory is attacked, the United States will defend its territory. In addition, Blinken supported Lithuania's stronger business ties with Taiwan and supported the EUROPEAN Union's economic pressure on China to file a lawsuit at the WTO.
