At 9:18 today, the starting ceremony of the Beijing Winter Paralympic Torch Relay was held in the north central area of Zhangjiakou Civic Square, followed by a torch relay in the square.

Zhangjiakou Citizen Square is the first stop in the Zhangjiakou Area of the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games Torch Relay, with the theme of "Chasing Dreams for the Winter Olympics", which embodies the core concept of "Sharing the Olympic Games". The relay distance is 1.4 kilometers, and a total of 18 torchbearers participate in the relay. The torchbearers participating in this transmission came from all walks of life, including able-bodied people and disabled people, both Han and ethnic minorities, conveying the concept of "more unity" to the world. Starting from the starting point of the north central area of the square, they interpreted the spirit of the Winter Paralympic Games in a joyful atmosphere and showed their sports style.

As one of the 17 Winter Olympic cultural squares for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games, the Winter Olympic elements of Zhangjiakou Citizen Square can be seen everywhere, and the cultural atmosphere of the Winter Olympics is very strong. In the center of the square, there are two huge mascots "Ice Pier" and "Snow Rongrong", who welcome people from home and abroad to come here for sightseeing and experience with the attitude of welcoming visitors from all over the world. It also established a Winter Olympics-themed landscape inspired by the National Ski Jumping Center "Snow Ruyi", attracting many spectators to take photos.
