Until the eve of the Battle of Xiaxia, Liu Bang was still a defeated general under Xiang Yu. In Liu Bang's military career, it can be summed up in one word, that is, "miserable."
It was not until Liu Bang met Han Xin that there was a great change in the war situation, but after Han Xin defected to Liu Bang, a more peculiar phenomenon appeared, that is, Han Xin led his troops to be invincible in foreign wars and invincible, while Liu Bang faced Xiang Yu and was repeatedly defeated.

The most important strategist around Xiang Yu and even Xiang Liang was Fan Zeng. Fan Zeng once gave advice to Xiang Liang and analyzed the reasons for Chen Sheng's failure, only when the chu state was established as king, could the world return to its heart and develop and grow, Xiang Liang operated according to Fan Zeng's plan, and the results were remarkable.
Historical records record that "therefore Xiang Liangran said that he would ask the king of Chuhuai to be a man and a shepherd for the people, and to think that he was the king of Chuhuai, and that he would follow the expectations of the people." ”
Fan Zeng had a unique vision, he had long anticipated that Liu Bang was probably Xiang Yu's biggest threat, and advised Xiang Yu to kill Liu Bang at the Hongmen Banquet, but unfortunately Xiang Yu was undecided and let Liu Bang pick up a life. Fan Zeng can be said to be Xiang Yu's right and left arm, in many battles, the shadow of Fan Zeng's plot can always be found, but unfortunately, Xiang Yu is too suspicious and forced away Fan Zeng.
In 204 BC, Xiang Yu's troops trapped Liu Bang in Xingyang, and Liu Bang even reached the exhausted fields, and it was at this time that Chen Ping gave Liu Bang an idea, using a divisive strategy to divide Xiang Yu's relationship between the monarch and the subject.

Chen Ping's divisive tactic was used to the extreme, not only allowing Liu Bang to successfully escape, but also abolishing Xiang Yu's left arm and right arm. After Fan Zeng left, Xiang Yu basically became a lonely man, and since then, Liu Bang has begun to move from the trough to the peak of the wave.
To a certain extent, Liu Bang was still not Xiang Yu's opponent, but Liu Bang attracted Xiang Yu's main force, giving Han Xin the opportunity and time for Liu Bang to attack the city, so that Han Xin wanted to establish himself as king.
On the one hand, Han Xin's ability to command the army is indeed very strong, Liu Bang's level is relatively average, on the other hand, it is precisely because of Fan Zeng's departure that the Han army is more handy, even if Liu Bang will still lose the battle, but with the help of Han Xin, the Han army has become more and more powerful.

Husbands are the world's remnants of thieves, and it is advisable to use the elements as the capital. Beginning with Qin, that is, peace and happiness, this so-called 'aiding and abusing'. And 'faithful words are good for the ear, and poison is good for the sick', Yuan Pei Gong listened to Fan's words. "Pei Gong is also a military hegemon."
However, after all, this was wartime, Xiang Yu was looking at the tiger, and Liu Bang had few soldiers, and he was not Xiang Yu's opponent at all, if he insisted on doing the opposite, 80% would die a miserable death. After Han Xin pacified the State of Qi, he asked Liu Bang for the title of King of Qi, and Liu Bang scolded Han Xin for treachery, and at the critical moment, Chen Ping and Zhang Liang stepped on Liu Bang, causing Liu Bang to change his mind and directly seal han the True King of Qi.
At that time, Liu Bang was besieged in Xingyang, and when he was honest in employing people, if he offended Han Xin, or made Han Xin an enemy party, the consequences would be unimaginable, and it was precisely because Zhang Liang and Chen Ping "endured humiliation and burdens" that not only allowed Liu Bang to get rid of danger, but also made Han Xin give up the idea of betraying Liu Bang, which cannot be described as unwise.
Zhang Liang can strategize thousands of miles away, and Chen Ping is a top conspirator, but for military commanders, the best at it is Han Xin. This is called a ruler that is short and long. Liu Bang is good at the art of taming people, although the military quality is not as good as the generals under him, but the subordinates are willing to fight for their lives, which is already very telling, Liu Bang has the important qualities of the emperor, and as an emperor, he does not necessarily have to be good at military.
Historical records record that "in the midst of the husband's planning and planning, the decisive victory is thousands of miles away, and I am not as good as the sub-room." The town and the country, care for the people, give rewards, and do not stop grain, I am not as good as Xiao He. Even with an army of millions, the battle will be won, the attack will be won, and I am not as good as Han Xin. These three are all masters, I can use them, so I take the world. ”
Liu Bang admitted his own shortcomings, which is extremely valuable. The reason why Liu Bang was able to win the Chu-Han war was largely because he would employ people, but after all, there were a thousand mouths in the family, one person in charge, Han Xin commanded the troops outside, and there was no good general in the family, so only Liu Bang himself could decide, so many decision-making mistakes were inevitable.
Fortunately, Liu Bang had Zhang Liang and Chen Pingren around him, and he could always pull Liu Bang at a critical moment, avoiding many errors in principle. Liu Bang was not good at military command, and even when he was besieged by the Xiongnu at Baishan Mountain, it was Chen Ping who helped him break the siege. Liu Bang's ability to command troops can also be seen from this.
