After Su Shi, another rare artistic all-rounder - Jiang Kui's calligraphy works are appreciated

In the Southern Song Dynasty, there was a literati who was proficient in poetry and writing, calligraphy and music, and his poetry and music were selected into primary and secondary school textbooks, his name was Jiang Kui, and today we do not talk about poetry, we do not talk about music, only about his calligraphy.

Jiang Kui "revered the Jin Dynasty and degraded the Tang Dynasty" and opposed the vulgar books, which was consistent with Su Dongpo, Huang Tingjian, and Mi Fu, who advocated the interests of the literati. However, he did not deny the "Tang Law" without asking any questions, but spent a lot of time systematically and comprehensively expounding the "Law" and extending the "Jin Yun" ancient law from affirmation and interpretation. He has not passed down much ink, and this "Xiao Kai Bao Wang's Mother's Post" is his precious Xiao Kai masterpiece.

It can be seen from the "Bao wang xian zhi bao mother thesis" that his calligraphy is from the second king and one way, with fine penmanship, elegant and handsome, and influenced by the calligraphy style of the early Tang Dynasty, not at any time, fresh and unconventional.

His book treatise, The Book Of Continuations, was written in imitation of Sun Guoting's Book Notation, but it is not a continuation of the Book Score. The whole volume is divided into eighteen rules, such as general theory, real book, pen, cursive, pen, ink, writing, copying, square circle, back, position, density, wind god, delay, gesture, emotion, bloodline, and calligraphy, etc. Eighteen rules are discussed. It is the most accomplished and influential academic work in the Southern Song Dynasty.
