According to the website of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, China Unicom has clarified the new strategy, fully undertaken the national "East Number West Calculation" project, and formulated the Action Plan for Building a New Digital Information Infrastructure and the Action Plan for the Integration and Development of The Computing Network.
According to reports, the action plan focuses on the main business of big computing, big connection, etc., coordinates and promotes the deep integration of new data centers and cloud networks, builds a "Unicom cloud", creates a new computing network with low latency, and forms a multi-level computing facility system of digital network collaboration, digital cloud collaboration, cloud edge collaboration, and green intelligence.
IT Home learned that China Unicom has more than 880 existing data centers, with a total scale of more than 300,000 and more than one million servers, and the data centers are mainly distributed in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, Luyu, Sichuan-Shaanxi-Chongqing, Menggui and other regions.
In the next step, China Unicom will focus on the eight major computing hub nodes of the national "East Number West Calculation" to accelerate the construction of new data centers in the four major national East Data Hub nodes of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Chengdu-Chongqing Region, and achieve large-scale computing power deployment.
