In September of the fourth year of Yongzheng (1726), a letter written to his father by Yin Yu's fifth son, the then 16-year-old Hongyang (later renamed Hongding), was captured by the Nine Gates and handed over to the Yongzheng Emperor.
YongZheng took a look at it, and when he saw that the letter Chinese strange, as if it were Western handwriting, he couldn't understand it for a while, so he asked the person who came:
"Are you sure it was Hongyang who wrote the letter to his father?"
The catcher replied, "Back to the emperor, the slave was found out of him, and he also admitted it." ”
Yongzheng looked over and over again, still unable to understand, so he ordered someone to call the Western missionary who served in the Qing court and asked him:
"What Chinese is this?"
The missionary, also confused, replied, "This kind of font cannot be recognized." ”
Helplessly, Yongzheng finally summoned Hongyang and personally interrogated him:
"You wrote the words on this paper?"
Hongyang knelt down, "Yes." ”
"When and from whom did you learn this kind of writing?"
"Back to the emperor's words, when Tong Bao (a subordinate of Yin Yu) came to Beijing, my father asked him to bring a grid, let me study, and still write a letter and send it, I learned from Tong Bao, so I still wrote a letter and sent it."
Yongzheng still did not believe it, thinking that with only a note, Hongyang could not quickly grasp a script. He even suspected that this word was not invented by Lao Jiu at all, but should be taught by his adviser Mu Jingyuan.
So Mu Jingyuan was escorted back to the capital and interrogated. As a result, during the trial, Mu Jingyuan denied the incident, bluntly saying that this strange script was actually invented by the Ninth Master.
Yongzheng believed that in order to deal with him, Lao Jiu had gone to great lengths to invent a script, so angry that he almost vomited blood!
But at this time, Lao Jiu was already dead in Baoding, and even the body could not be found.
Throughout his life, Guan Yinyu himself did not covet the throne and was an important part of the Eight Masters Party, and did not turn his back on Yin Yu until the failure of the conquest. Therefore, some descendants believe that he is a man of love and morality in the ruthless royal family.
As the prince and brother of the dynasty, Yin Yu was able to spell Manchu in Latin letters and make up 19 manchu characters in a short period of time, and today it seems that he is indeed extraordinary.
