Mercedes-Benz will recall EQC, which has previously been complained about by users...

Recently, Mercedes-Benz officially filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation, and will recall some EQC vehicles with production dates from November 30, 2018 to December 15, 2021 from August 15, 2022.

The recall documents show that the cooling system in the electric drive module of some EQC vehicles may have been undersealed or would lead to coolant leakage due to production deviations from suppliers. When a fault occurs, the vehicle combination will prompt a corresponding warning message. Extreme conditions may result in a decrease in the output power of the vehicle's electric drive module or the failure of the vehicle to start.

After the recall, Beijing Benz will check the production sequence number of the electric drive module for the vehicle within the scope of the recall through the authorized dealer, and if the production sequence number is within the affected range, the improved electric drive module assembly will be replaced free of charge to eliminate the safety hazard.

Since the recall is not immediate and needs to start after half a year, Mercedes-Benz has also launched emergency measures: before the vehicle recall and maintenance, if the user encounters relevant fault information prompts, he should contact the Mercedes-Benz authorized service center in time to deal with it.

EQC is the first pure electric vehicle model launched by Mercedes-Benz in China. Since the second half of last year, some EQC car owners have reported that their cars have motor failures, cannot drive, and even have incidents of sudden loss of power during driving. The owner feedback, Mercedes-Benz dealers gave the statement that the motor coolant pipeline is damaged, the coolant penetrates into the copper wire part of the motor and causes the motor to fail, and the solution given is to replace the corresponding electric drive system. However, if the problem occurs outside the warranty period, the maintenance cost is expected to be as high as 100,000 yuan, and the order maintenance time is longer. The recall is directed at the problem of feedback from car owners.

In addition to this recall, Mercedes-Benz also announced in January this year that it will carry out three other recalls: First, from now on, it will recall 41 imported CLA vehicles with production dates from June 25, 2020 to July 4, 2020, and some vehicles within the scope of the recall may be contaminated with hot melt adhesive due to production deviations. The aging effect of hot melt adhesive will lead to a reduction in the fixing force of the power supply line connector of the electric steering power system, resulting in loose joint connections, and in extreme cases, it may lead to the interruption of the power supply of the electric power steering power system, affect the function of the power steering assistance system, increase the risk of accidents, and have safety hazards.

The other is the recall of 385 imported and domestically produced C-class and E-class vehicles with air suspensions from the production date from April 7, 2015 to January 23, 2017, effective July 1, 2022. Within the scope of this recall, the pressure relief valve of some vehicle air suspension compressors may be stuck due to corrosion, resulting in the inability to adjust the horizontal height of the vehicle as expected, and the body may be stuck at a certain height of the suspension that cannot be reduced, which does not meet the relevant requirements of the relevant national mandatory standards for vehicle air suspension, and there are safety hazards.

Another is the recall of a total of 639 GLE SUV vehicles with production dates from February 17, 2020 to December 19, 2020, effective February 11, 2022.

The fixing clips of the vehicle fuel tank pressure sensors covered by this recall do not meet the requirements for corrosion resistance. After the long-term use of the vehicle, the fixing clip may weaken the fixing force due to corrosion, resulting in the fuel tank pressure sensor may be loosened due to vibration during the driving process of the vehicle, and in extreme cases, the sealing of the fuel tank may be affected, which in turn will not meet the requirements of the relevant laws and regulations on the sealing of the motor vehicle fuel system, and there are safety hazards and unreasonable emission risks.
