Market share reached 74%! Intel counter-kills AMD in the Japanese DIY market

In the past two years, the dispute between Intel and AMD processors has been quite sticky, but in different countries and regions, the situation is very different, such as Germany is very fond of AMD, and in Japan, Intel was once suppressed, and now it has been pulled back.

The data in this article comes from the Japanese research company BCN Ranking, which is the sales of major Japanese retailers and online stores, which accounts for 40% of the Japanese PC market, and the rest is mainly the brand machine market.

At the beginning of 2019, AMD processors were on an equal footing with Intel in the DIY market, and for nearly two and a half years, they were suppressing opponents almost the entire time.

However, since May 2021, Intel has achieved a rebound, all the way up steadily, and now has regained 74% of the share, amD is only 25%.

At present, the average price of a processor in the Japanese market is 32,900 yen, which is about 1,815 yuan.

Looking at the situation of different series, the Core i5 series is currently the mainstay, accounting for 35.7% of sales, followed by the Core i7 series, which also accounts for 25.0%, and both of them have been gaining momentum in the past half year.

The Core i3 and Core i9 series currently account for 10.4% and 7.5% respectively, and have hovered around 5-10% for most of the history.

The Ryzen 5 series is currently only a pitiful 12.6%, while at one point it exceeded 40% at the peak of 2020, and the best i5 series in the Core family at that time was only about 12%.

In this situation, one is that Intel continues to strengthen its product line, especially the 12th generation Core performance, and the other is that AMD is very seriously out of stock in Japan, especially the Ryzen 9 and Ryzen 7 series are difficult to buy, which is the main reason why they do not appear in the above chart.
