On February 11, the Ministry of Education issued a notice requiring local education departments and universities to comprehensively consider the current epidemic situation, prevention and control policy requirements and the actual situation of local schools, formulate and strictly implement the opening plan and epidemic prevention and control plan for the spring semester of 2022, timely issue the opening notice and the epidemic prevention and control requirements for returning to school, and make arrangements for the return of teachers and students to school in a classified and orderly manner.

According to the statistics of the People's Daily health client, from February 12 to February 19, there were 295 new confirmed cases of local new coronary pneumonia in 17 places across the country. Among them, 21 new cases were added in Guangdong, 23 cases were added in Guangxi, 8 new cases were added in Yunnan, 1 new case was added in Zhejiang, 66 cases were added in Jiangsu, 78 cases were added in Inner Mongolia, 1 new case was added in Tianjin, and 97 cases were added in Liaoning. Among them, 96 new cases were added in Huludao, Liaoning, and more than 65 cases were added in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, and Suzhou, Jiangsu.
Colleges and universities in many places have suspended their plans to reopen
Affected by the epidemic, many colleges and universities have suspended their reopening plans. Among the provinces and cities with new local cases mentioned above, some universities in Guangxi, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia and other places have issued relevant documents.
On February 9, Guangxi University issued the Notice on the Postponement of Students' Return to School in the Spring Semester of 2022, and students postponed their return to school and changed from offline teaching to online teaching. The return of students from guilin university of technology in Guilin campus was postponed for one week, and it was adjusted to return to school in batches and colleges from February 26 and 27.
On February 14, Soochow University and Suzhou University of Science and Technology in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, issued notices clarifying that students in the spring semester will be postponed from returning to school, and all students are not allowed to return to school early. At the same time, the school strictly controls the campus, and teachers, students and employees do not leave Suzhou unless necessary.
On February 16, the Liaoning Institute of Finance and Trade in Huludao City, Liaoning Province, issued a notice that the new semester could not start on time and that online teaching would begin on February 28. The next day, many dormitory buildings of the college were urgently requisitioned for the centralized resettlement of isolated people.
Shenzhen University issued a notice on February 18 that teachers and students who have not returned to school will not return to school for the time being. Online teaching will begin on 28 February.
On the evening of February 18, Inner Mongolia University issued the latest tips for epidemic prevention and control, and all students postponed their return to school, and online teaching was launched on February 21. On the same day, Inner Mongolia Normal University also issued a notice related to the postponement of the return to campus.
