Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the "Notice on Printing and Distributing the Evaluation Results of the National Enterprise Technology Center in 2021" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice") on its official website, which evaluated the technical strength of the enterprises selected for the list of national enterprise technology centers. In the evaluation results, Changan Automobile scored 97.1 points, becoming the highest scorer in the automotive industry and the second in the whole industry.

Rated as the first in the industry, how much gold content?
Since 2007, many enterprises have been selected into the list of national enterprise technology centers, and according to the annex to the Notice, there are a total of 1744 enterprises that have received the latest evaluation.
Being selected for the list itself shows that the technical strength of this company is good. The "Measures for the Administration of State-Certified Enterprise Technology Centers" promulgated in 2007 mentions that "for enterprise technology centers with strong technological innovation capabilities, remarkable innovation performance, and important demonstration roles in major industries of the national economy, the state will identify them and give corresponding preferential policies to encourage and guide enterprises to continuously improve their independent innovation capabilities." ”
The selected enterprises, both in and out, they must be evaluated every two years, and the National Development and Reform Commission will publish the score and industry ranking of each enterprise according to the evaluation system. Enterprises that are evaluated as unqualified will be disqualified.
In the appendix to the Notice, Changan Automobile ranked first in the automotive industry and second in the whole industry. In the automotive industry, Dongfeng Motor, GAC Motor, SAIC Motor and Geely were also rated as excellent (scored 90≥ points). As for Huawei, which is well known to everyone, it was also rated as excellent in this evaluation, but lagged behind the above 5 vehicle companies.

Why is Changan Automobile so recognized?
Leaving aside the state's evaluation rules for the selected companies, Changan Automobile can obtain high score evaluations for many years in a row, which must have its own advantages.
More than two years ago, the author walked into Changan Automobile with the central media. At that time, one of their executives told the author that Changan Automobile began to take the road of independent positive research and development since 1998, and in the research and development work mode of "996" and "711", they used 20 years to regain 40 years of the relative joint venture brand.

Changan Automobile has established 16 fields, 194 international advanced laboratories, and invested about 2 billion yuan to build a comprehensive test site for Changan Automobile that meets international standards. It is reported that the test site is the first professional automobile comprehensive test site in the western region that meets national standards.
In 18 countries around the world, Changan Automobile has set up a R&D team of 12,000 people, including 7,000+ R&D personnel and 600+ senior experts.

When other car companies rely on joint ventures to quickly obtain profits, Changan Automobile's insistence on investing in independent positive research and development is undoubtedly both lonely and correct.

According to the data, the sales volume of Changan Chinese brand cars in 2021 was 1754707, accounting for 76% of total sales (75% in the same period last year); in 2021, the sales volume of Changan Chinese brand passenger cars was 1204199, accounting for 52% of total sales (49% in the same period last year).
Among them, Changan CS75 series, CS55 series, Yidong series, passenger car high-end sequence "UNI", Auchan X5, etc., are already sales hit models.
In the retail and batch sales ranking of passenger car manufacturers in the narrow sense just released by the Association of Passenger Vehicles in January, Changan Automobile ranked second, higher than the top three in the past such as SAIC Volkswagen and SAIC-GM.

In August 2021, Changan Automobile announced the development strategy of "New Automobile, New Ecology". According to the strategy, Changan Automobile will continue to adhere to technology as the core driving force, and is expected to invest 150 billion yuan during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, of which 70 billion yuan will be used for the research and development of new automobile-related technologies.
