For the first time in history! AMD's market capitalization surpassed Intel for the first time: exceeding 1.2 trillion, successfully surpassing

On February 14, AMD successfully completed the acquisition of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array Field Programmable Logic Gate Array) giant Xilinx. Reuters revealed that the acquisition price was as high as $49.8 billion. AMD will issue 427 million shares to Xilinx shareholders, for a total of 1.643 billion shares, calculating amD's total market capitalization of $199.58 billion (about 1.27 trillion yuan), surpassing Intel's $197.24 billion.

After this merger, AMD will become the second oldest CPU, the second oldest GPU and the oldest FPGA, and the design and manufacturing capabilities of chips and graphics cards have become the world's advanced level. The market is also generally optimistic about AMD's merger, and after the merger was completed, AMD's stock price has risen sharply.

So, what makes AMD so valuable? AMD's acquisition of Xilinx is highly complementary, and the latter's leading technologies in adaptive SoCs, FPGAs, and artificial intelligence engines will greatly help AMD expand its market and give AMD a larger share of the cloud computing, edge computing and smart device markets.

The value of a single cloud computing market is enormous. Microsoft's market value today can exceed $2 trillion, in fact, Windows and other services contribute less revenue, cloud computing revenue accounts for a large part. So, Microsoft can also live well without significantly optimizing Windows and the like, and the hardware products are not doing so well.

In the civilian consumer market, many notebook product lines will launch Intel and AMD processor products at the same time, which is no longer the only scene of Intel in the past. AMD's RDNA and other architecture products are used in vehicles, handhelds and other equipment.

The future of VR glasses is likely to be dominated by all-in-one machines, which is a market that may have a big explosion, and the chip competition for these new devices will be very fierce. AMD, Intel, Qualcomm, MediaTek, etc. must have made a lot of preparations behind their backs, and AMD can effectively enhance its competitiveness after acquiring Xilinx.
