In the latest batch of new car declaration directories of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Master Jiao saw the figure of the domestic Mercedes-Benz pure electric sedan EQE, which indicates that Chinese consumers are about to formally contact the new EQE. However, Mercedes-AMG officially released a new pure electric model EQE AMG version in the early morning of February 16, and the overseas regional listing date is set for the beginning of 2023.
The EQE AMG version of the tail tag is wearing the "53" badge, the powertrain is equipped with dual motors on the front and rear axles, and the maximum power performance is 626 horsepower and the peak torque is 950 Nm under the standard configuration. If the "Dynamic Plus" kit is selected, the maximum power will be increased to 686 hp and the peak torque will be increased to 1000 Nm.
Officials said that the EQE AMG accelerates from 100 kilometers to 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 220 kilometers per hour. If you opt for the "Dynamic Plus" package, the 100 km/h acceleration is increased to 3.2 seconds, and the speed can reach 240 km/h. It is worth mentioning that the specifications of the battery packs of the two versions are the same, and the whole vehicle is equipped with a 90.6 kWh battery pack, and the official claim is that the pure electric endurance is more than 400 kilometers.
EQE AMG and EQE come from the same platform architecture, both from Mercedes-Benz EVA exclusive pure electric platform. The platform's first model was the Mercedes-Benz EQS. The EQE AMG comes standard with four-wheel steering and a charging speed of up to 170 kW, which means that 160 km of battery life can be replenished in 15 minutes. In addition, the car also has a high-intensity brake kinetic energy recovery system, which supports single pedal mode.
Compared with the regular version, AMG version engineers have made special adjustments to the motor system, all-wheel drive system and suspension system. Among them, the motor adopts excitation synchronous motor, with specific windings, laminations, inverters, etc., which can achieve higher speed and power than ordinary traditional motors.
In terms of design, the AMG version must be different from the ordinary version, for example, the front grille adopts the AMG exclusive vertical stripe, and the front bar is equipped with a cooling trough design on both sides. The wheels are larger in size and available in 21 inches, and the rear brake discs have been replaced with carbon-ceramic.
In terms of interior design, EQE basically copied many elements of EQS, and the same is true of the AMG version, which comes standard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument and a 12.3-inch central control screen, and you can also choose a 56-inch Hyperscreen extra-large triple screen. The steering wheel is AMG's exclusive style, with carbon fiber trim at 12 o'clock and the AMG logo marked on the bottom. In addition, the three letters of AMG are also ubiquitous in the interior.
Regarding the price, the EQE AMG version of the pricing will not be announced until the end of the year at the earliest, or wait until the domestic EQE price is announced, according to the calculation, the general price range can be guessed.
Mercedes-AMG is not zero experience in the field of pure electricity. Back in 2014, they first tested the SLS AMG Electric Drive, which had a power output of 740 horsepower, which was the fastest and strongest electric vehicle in the world at the time. Since then, AMG has gained extensive experience in F1 competitions, especially in kinetic energy recovery technology.
