On the occasion of the Lantern Festival in the Year of Nongyin, the Public Welfare Cultural Activity of the Lantern Festival of "Reunion of People in the Shangyuan Festival" sponsored by the Changchun Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Changchun Confucius Research Association, undertaken by the Changchun Confucian Temple Museum and the Changchun Confucian Temple Museum, and co-organized by the Taoyuan Street Confucian Temple Community, was held at the Changchun Confucian Temple Museum.
The Lantern Festival, also known as Shangyuan Festival, New Year's Eve, Lantern Festival, and the Fifteenth Day of the First Month, is both an independent festival and an integral part of the Chinese New Year. On the day of the Lantern Festival, the Changchun Confucian Temple Museum erected themed trusses on both sides of Dachengdian Square and hung colorful and exquisitely patterned lanterns. The delicate lanterns sway with the wind, as if waving to everyone and sending festive greetings cordially.
Changchun Confucian Temple Museum held an online special lecture to introduce the origin of the Lantern Festival and a series of colorful customs and activities such as lanterns, guessing lantern riddles, fireworks, social fires, eating lanterns, sending lanterns, etc., and also explained the riddle culture and other methods of guessing lantern riddles such as other ways to solve them, using allusions, etc., and demonstrated for us how to solve the lantern riddles.
Guessing the lantern riddle is the highlight of the Lantern Festival, reflecting the profound historical and cultural connotation of the Lantern Festival and people's meticulous observation of daily life. To this end, the Changchun Confucian Temple Museum held an online and offline riddle guessing activity, and citizens, tourists and friends participated enthusiastically and orderly. After everyone draws the riddle, or ponders to find a way to solve the puzzle, or the clever opportunity to say the answer happily, and some children follow their parents to experience the festival activities, leaving a deep impression of the traditional festival in the young mind.
In addition, tourists who guessed the riddle won prizes such as lanterns, lanterns, and towels. Everyone smiled and deeply felt the fun and cultural significance of traditional festivals.
