Bao Ma's "swimming circle" can't be shaken off? Or the rectus abdominis detachment

"The babies are full moons, but my stomach still looks like I'm five or six months pregnant, what's going on?"

"Now I have to wear pregnant pants, and others will recover quickly after giving birth, so why can't I?"

……

Many mothers have such helplessness when they are examined 42 days after childbirth. So, why can't the stomach go back after giving birth, and it is still loose and collapsed? Why do you still have symptoms such as low back pain, urinary incontinence, and uterine prolapse? Dr. Li Dan of the Department of Gynecology and Health Care, Shunyi Women's and Children's Hospital of Beijing Children's Hospital, introduced: It may be the disaster caused by the separation of your rectus abdominis muscles.

Bao Ma's "swimming circle" can't be shaken off? Or the rectus abdominis detachment

What is the separation of the rectus abdominis muscle? How to detect and carry out reasonable rehabilitation to help postpartum mothers recover their physical health and bodybuilding state as soon as possible?

It turns out that during pregnancy and childbirth, the enlarged uterus will elongate the abdominal muscles, so that the two rectus abdominis muscles are separated from the position of the abdominal white line, and usually the phenomenon caused by pregnancy will gradually recover four to twelve weeks after delivery. However, there are also some women who may over-stretch their abdominal muscles during pregnancy, resulting in the inability to repair automatically after childbirth, a situation called "rectus abdominis detachment".

"Simply put, when the expectant mother is pregnant, in order to give the baby in the stomach more ample room for growth, the abdominal muscles are enlarged by the uterus, and after childbirth, because the rectus abdominis muscles are propped up to separate, it is difficult to recover." Dr. Li Dan said.

There are also many dangers of rectus abdominis separation:

1. The rectus abdominis muscles are separated, and the low back muscles begin to compensate for the work, which will cause back pain and easy fatigue.

2. Causes a decrease in the stability of the trunk and pelvis, causing various diseases such as digestive symptoms, urinary incontinence, and uterine prolapse.

3. Body deformation, stomach can not go back, affecting the entire person's temperament image, body shape, inner sensitivity and anxiety.

How to self-test rectus abdominis? Lie on your back first, bend your legs to expose your abdomen; hold your breath hard, slowly lift your head and shoulders off the ground; cooperate with your fingers to press down the area slightly up the umbilicus, feel the abdominal muscles on both sides squeeze your fingers toward the middle, and then use your fingers to measure the distance between the muscles on both sides.

Normal: less than 2 fingers;

Need for improvement: 2-3 fingers;

Need to see a doctor: 3 fingers or more.

More than 3 fingers are more serious, may cause hernia, leakage of urine, and even the small intestine protruding from the abdominal wall, need to seek medical treatment in time; more than 2 fingers, less than 3 fingers, can be used to improve the separation of rectus abdominis muscles in the right way. However, be careful not to do sit-ups, curls and other trunk twist weight-bearing exercises, because it will aggravate the separation of the rectus abdominis muscles.

How can the rectus abdominis improve? Dr. Li Dan introduced that when the separation width exceeds 3 fingers, it is necessary to diagnose and guide a professional doctor, and it is recommended to carry out early treatment to improve the blood circulation of the rectus abdominis muscle and strengthen muscle training through bioelectric electrophysiological stimulation to promote its recovery. It should be noted that you must restore your pelvic floor muscles before doing rectus abdominis recovery, and it is recommended that mothers seek medical help from a professional pelvic floor assessment rehabilitation clinic.
