Picture book is a general term for a kind of reading with pictures as the main content of expression. The themes and styles of picture books are rich and diverse, including fiction and non-fiction, literature and science, as well as special varieties such as alphabet books, pop-up books, and toy books, and we also often use "picture books" to refer to such readings.
๐ Tips:
We always talk about picture books, but we can know from books that on a larger scale we should say "picture books".
Picture books are aimed at young children and are both literary and visually artistic.
Of course, it is worth mentioning that The Japanese picture book researcher Nao Matsui once put forward the view that "everyone takes 'picture books not for children to read, but by adults to read to children' as the basic principle of picture book reading", and please "everyone cherishes the time for children to read picture books by themselves", believing that "while reading books, while immersed in fantasy, it is a real reading moment for young children and the world of picture books to become one".
