January 30, the twenty-eighth day of the lunar month. At a time when everyone was looking back and every family was busy with the New Year, I was on the road of home visits. Thinking that tomorrow is the Chinese New Year's Eve, the parents must be at home. That's why I chose to visit my home today, and I can't afford to lose this great opportunity to meet with parents face-to-face!

"Teacher, here you are. The child has made great progress this semester, thank you to the teacher. "As soon as I walked into my helper student Ma Classmate, the child's mother greeted me. She told me that the child had been taken by her father to the town to learn martial arts. I looked at the winter vacation study plan made by the children themselves and the winter vacation homework of each subject that had been completed, and simply corrected them.

In the conversation with Ma's mother, I told her not to relax the supervision of children's learning, and let children complete learning tasks with quality and quantity. At the same time, the child has an extroverted personality, good physical fitness, and likes to draw, and if conditions permit, she can cultivate her strengths as much as possible. The child's mother nodded vigorously and said "yes", last time considered my advice and asked for the child's opinion, let her learn painting and fighting during the holidays. She and the child's father have now changed their thinking and concepts, and they are more concerned about their children's learning and life. Before leaving, the child's mother clings to me and sends me to the village entrance avenue.

Since the beginning of the pairing help, I have checked the homework of Tutor Ma every day, talked with the child twice a week, visited the home once a month, and frequently communicated with the parents of the children through WeChat, telephone and other means to jointly make suggestions for the growth of the child. Under the long-term visit and care, Ma and I became friends who talked about everything, and there was a great breakthrough in learning. The transformation of the child makes the parents feel happy, let me feel relieved, and my efforts have not been in vain.

I remember that when I first took over this class last year, Mr. Ma was still a student who gave the teachers a "headache". Don't look at the usual lively and cheerful, can speak the Tao, but when it comes to learning, children will lose their spirit. At the parent-teacher conference, I had a simple communication with Ma's father, but I did not have a deep understanding of the situation of the child's home. Faced with such a high emotional intelligence, strong language expression but no love of learning, I decided to conduct a big survey of her family situation through home visits.

When I first called the child's parents, Ma's father told me that he was watering in the vegetable greenhouse and did not need to visit the house, so he asked me to go back. I asked him how long it would take to get home, and the kid's dad told me it would take at least half an hour. I thought that in this half hour, I could first visit another classmate in the village, so I told Ma's father that I would not go back, and I would contact him again in half an hour. Just as I was walking from the north of the village to another classmate in the south of the village, I met Ma's father who was gathering at the table in front of the villagers' house to play cards!

When the child's father saw me, he looked embarrassed and felt very embarrassed by what he had just done, and quickly invited me to sit at his house. In conversations with the child's father, I learned that he was very busy at home taking care of several vegetable greenhouses, and often got up at three or four in the morning to pick cucumbers and transport cucumbers. Occasionally, in his spare time, he likes to play cards and play mobile phone brush paragraphs. The child's mother works in a nearby factory, leaving early and returning late. Therefore, the couple can't take care of their two children, and usually Ma and his brother who has just entered the first grade are mostly taken care of by their grandparents.

After learning this, my father and I explained in detail the child's current situation in school, analyzed the reasons for the child's resistance to learning, and opened up to communicate with the child's father about the child's education. After a long conversation, the child's father clearly expressed that he and the child's mother must pay more attention to the child's learning and life in the future, lead by example, and set a good example for the child.

After tutoring my children's studies, I talked to Ma again. First of all, she affirmed her strengths, such as being lively and cheerful, loving sports, and trying new things, so that she could build up her confidence in learning. Tell her that the backwardness in learning is only temporary, the foundation does not need to be made up little by little, and the teacher believes that with her intelligence, she will be able to make progress. This home visit became a turning point, after which not only did the child change, but the child's parents did pay more attention to the child's learning and knew how to educate and care for the child.

Children like Ma are not alone.

The teacher's home visit, on the one hand, will make the child feel the teacher's attention to himself, and after entering the child's home, he can truly enter the child's heart. On the other hand, many parents in rural areas can provide their children with better material conditions but do not pay attention to their children's education, and there is confusion and lack of methods for how to educate their children.

The teacher's home visit is not only a one-sided information collection, but also a process to help parents change their concepts and answer questions. It is this time and time again that home visits have brought teachers, parents and children closer together.
