In the 1910s, the Qing government had just collapsed, and although the Republic of China had been established, the long-term warlord struggles had led to continuous wars in China, and the people's living environment was still harsh. A group of people with lofty ideals were determined to change this unbearable situation, and they united under the guidance of the Red Mind, and with the assistance of the Soviet Union, they overcame all kinds of difficulties and obstacles to give China a new look, and Chen Pixian was one of them.
Born in 1916 in Shanghang County, Fujian Province, Chen Pixian worked in the fields as a child and attended a private school, and was later recommended to attend a Western-style school because of his excellent grades. There are many open-minded teachers in the school, they teach Chen Pixian to read all kinds of progressive books, Chen Pixian came into contact with communist ideas, and was deeply attracted to it, at the age of 13, he was introduced to join the Youth League, only half a year later he was elected as the chief of the Soviet Children's League for his outstanding work, and at the age of 15 he passed the test and was officially accepted by the party organization.
Since 1927, when the Kuomintang troops had invaded the Soviet zone on a large scale, the young Chen Pixian was ordered to lead a guerrilla force of less than 300 people to fight guerrillas in the Fujian and Gansu areas, sowing red seeds everywhere, opening up several base areas behind enemy lines, and constantly strengthening the strength of the people's armed forces. After the Kuomintang was frustrated, it decided to launch an economic offensive, blockade the Soviet area and cut off the supply of materials, in a vain attempt to trap the Communists. After consulting with the organization, Chen Pixian decided to establish a "yellow district" to make friends with the rural elites who sympathized with the Communists and let them procure materials on their behalf to alleviate the crisis.
After the outbreak of the All-out War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Chen Pixian was ordered to open up a base area in the Gansu-Guangdong Border Region. At that time, although the Kuomintang and the Communists nominally truced and made peace and jointly defended against foreign enemies, the old Chiang Kai-shek was not dead-hearted and often secretly ordered his subordinates to engage in friction with our army's troops. Chen Pixian adopted a strategy of combining "attacking" and "touching" in this regard, first concentrating forces to strike at the uneasy elements, and then explaining to them his determination to cooperate in resisting Japan in order to maintain the national united front.
During the Liberation War, Chen Pixian was transferred to the post of secretary of the Central China Working Committee, and the Party Central Committee decided to concentrate the main forces of the two major field armies in East China and the Central Plains to launch the Huaihai Campaign, and he was ordered to undertake logistical work. In just over a month, he mobilized millions of people, collected nearly 100,000 trolleys, and transported tens of thousands of tons of military supplies to the front line, laying a solid foundation for our army to win victories.
In 1952, Chen Pixian went to Shanghai to take up a post, successively serving as the fourth secretary, second secretary and first secretary of the municipal party committee, and coordinated the work of maintaining stability. The old forces have not yet been eradicated, the shanghai beach is mixed with fish and dragons, and the opportunistic and unscrupulous businessmen and the remnants of secret agents are often stirring up trouble. Chen Pixian carefully analyzed the current situation, and after consulting with General Chen Yi, expanded the public security force and severely cracked down on all criminal acts. At the same time, incentive policies were introduced for various enterprises, relying on Shanghai's deep industrial foundation, vigorously developing the secondary industry, and completing the rejuvenation of Shanghai in only two years.
In 1978, Chen Pixian was appointed first secretary of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee, and he quickly launched a rehabilitation campaign, allowing many cadres and officials who had been wronged during the special period to be reinstated and put into recovery work. It also mobilized engineering units to build infrastructure to help agricultural and industrial development, and tilted resources to state-owned enterprises in large quantities to ensure that they played a leading role in economic development.
In his spare time, Chen Pixian was also concerned about the people in his hometown, and once he returned to his hometown to visit his relatives, he found that the local government's administration was out of touch with reality, which seriously affected the lives of the people. He immediately launched a platoon visit, recorded what he saw and heard, and submitted it to the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, urging relevant departments to correct their mistakes as soon as possible and eliminate the negative image of the government at the grass-roots level.
In 1987, Chen Pixian gradually retreated to the second line due to his illness and died in 1995 at the age of 80. Chen Pixian was a non-conservative person, and in an era when feudal thought was still strong, he dared to accept new ideas, dared to stand with comrades, and struggled for an uncertain future in adversity. The iron hooves of the Japanese Kou did not erase his ideals, the suppression of the Kuomintang did not break his will, he stood at the tide of the red torrent, washed away the humiliation that China had suffered, and created a new world for the people, he is always worth remembering!
