The same situation has also occurred in some joint venture models that have been discontinued, such as the Honda Accord 2018 flagship version, the official price of the new car was 229,800 in that year, and now the price of used cars fluctuates around 190,000-210,000, which is close to the official guidance price of the 2022 new car. In addition, the price of second-hand cars in 2018 and 19 Toyota Prado is even 50,000 yuan higher than that of new cars.

There are no cars to buy for new energy models

Compared with fuel vehicles, new energy models show a trend of no cars to buy, and the reporter only saw a few Teslas during the visit. At the same time, the reporter also found that second-hand new energy vehicles are basically in a state of no one, which also reflects that the depreciation rate of new energy models is not optimistic, although they are still sought-after at the new car level.

The reporter learned that the pick-up cycle of Weilai Automobile is about 4-8 weeks, Xiaopeng is about 2-4 weeks, and the ideal is up to 7 weeks. The pick-up cycle of other models like the Zero-Run T03 is also lengthening. The same is the shortage of new cars, why can't new energy vehicles be reflected in the second-hand car market? The reason is also because the depreciation is too fast. According to the new energy vehicle retention rate report released by the China Automobile Dealers Association, the one-year retention rate of THE NIO ES6 is 78.12%, the BYD Han EV is 76.06%, the Tesla Model 3 is 73.35%, the Xiaopeng P7 is 72.59%, the ideal ONE is 71.10%, and the WEILAI ES8 is 62.98%, which is far from the fuel vehicle market.

For most second-hand car dealers, the proportion of funds received by the car is very high, and a larger amount of money is needed to circulate, and the car in hand must be sold at the fastest speed in order to make a profit through the price difference. Their biggest fear is that the car will be brought back, but it won't be sold.

A second-hand car salesman told reporters that although many consumers are not exclusive to new energy models now, there is not so much demand for second-hand new energy vehicles. "I once received a Tesla Model 3 before, and although the car was in good condition, it took 5 months to sell it. Now I really don't dare to collect new energy used cars anymore, I can only use the consignment model, the seller puts the car here, and then pays the owner of the car when there is a customer. ”

In addition, for some potential customers of used cars, the purchase of new energy used cars also needs to bear risks. For them, what needs to be considered is how long the battery can have in their own hands. A consumer who came to buy a second-hand car told reporters that it is better to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy a new energy car that others have driven than to buy a new car directly, and now the second-hand ones are not easy to sell, if they want to sell it later, it is not easy, it is not as good as buying a fuel car.

Car dealers dare not touch, consumers dare not buy, has become the status quo of new energy second-hand cars. In addition, the lack of after-sales security system is also a major problem in the depression of the new energy used car market. From the perspective of supporting facilities, new energy vehicle companies on the market will install charging piles for consumers for free, but this service is not enjoyed by second-hand car owners. This also reflects the need to improve the after-sales service of new energy second-hand cars.

As far as the current situation is concerned, the new energy used car market is indeed cold. However, fuel vehicles have matured the market with a hundred years of development, and new energy has just emerged, and there are broad prospects for development. At present, some new energy vehicle companies have also begun to solve the quality assurance problem of new energy used cars. For example, Weilai Automobile released the used car business system; SAIC Motor group set up a used car certification center. Liu Xiaoshi, executive deputy secretary general of the China Electric Vehicle 100 Association, said: "With the increase of electric vehicles, the volume of second-hand transactions of electric vehicles will also increase significantly, and it is expected to reach 200,000 or even higher in 2025. ”
