The height of the reservoir dam is 40 meters, the distance of the dam top is 203.06 meters, and the length of the dam top is 236 meters, which is very spectacular.
There is also a majestic mountain next to the lake- Jihu Mountain, which is commonly known as "Jihu Ridge" by the local people. At an altitude of 607 meters, The mountain stands tall, with a lone peak, sitting north and facing south, resembling a "dragon chair", and is the highest mountain in the vicinity. The mountains and rivers of Jihu Lake are interdependent, just like a pair of "gods and immortals", forming a perfect landscape of landscapes.
Jihu Mountain is very well-known, because there is an ancient temple on it - The Taoist Temple of Jihu Mountain, which is called "Jihu Temple" by the local people, and the incense is exuberant. Built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the Taoist Temple of Lihu Mountain has a history of nearly 500 years.
Legend has it that the Wishing Temple is very spiritual, and it is the most popular ancient temple of incense in the western part of Qidong County, and is known as the "First Temple of Qidong". People from neighboring Qiyang, Shaoyang, And Shaodong counties also came to pay their respects and make wishes. During the Spring Festival, there are often heavy traffic jams on the mountain, which is worthy of the name.
Because yangjiatai reservoir is close to The Lake, it is also known as "Lake Ofe". The construction of the Yangjiatai Reservoir has made the lake really have a lake. There are Taoist gods and immortals guarding the mountain, and there are immortals and spirits. Jihu Lake and Jihu Mountain, a veritable "immortal couple", together constitute the first landscape landscape in Eastern Qidong.
Good mountains and good water, there are "gods", and the potential tourism value is huge.
In order to further protect and develop the eco-tourism value of Jihu Lake, the area around Yangjiatai Reservoir is now planned as "Jihu Wetland Park", which is the first provincial wetland park in Qidong County. Lihushan Wetland Park covers a total area of 4505 acres. The park is rich in animal and plant resources, with a total of 392 species of seed plants, 184 species of vertebrates, and 12 species of national second-level protected animals, such as pangolins, civets, goshawks, owls, and Paibangshan Xiaoni.
It is believed that with the transformation and upgrading of Lihu Wetland Park, it will become the "first business card of Qidong tourism", which can become an integral part of the nanyue Hengshan tourism route in Hengyang City and will become an important tourist destination in Hunan.
