They are busy in the event venue, guiding the audience and maintaining order;

They serve in closed-loop stations, attentively receiving, and doing everything in detail;

They stick to different fields, enthusiastic service, full of youth.

They are the "Tianji Blue" that shines in the ice and snow event, and they are the selfless volunteers of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

After the "double Olympics", the feelings have always been the same

"As a Volunteer for the Winter Olympics, while doing a good job, we also shoulder the mission of telling the Chinese story well and letting the world understand China in depth." Yu Zhongqi, a volunteer for the Beijing Winter Olympics from Tsinghua University, spoke with pride.

Today, as a doctoral student at tsinghua University's School of Public Policy and Management, he recalls his fate with the Olympic Games, which is still vividly remembered.

In the summer of 2008, Yu Zhongqi, who was in the fifth grade of primary school, signed up as a small volunteer to feel the Olympic atmosphere and provide help within his ability in the pavilions built around the venue, and this experience also closely linked him to the Olympics.

"Due to my young age, I mainly helped the volunteer brothers and sisters to do some auxiliary work." He said he was looking forward to being like them and growing up to be an Olympic volunteer.

14 years later, when the dream came into reality, Yu Zhongqi took up a more core position at the Beijing Winter Olympics - the Olympic family assistant, becoming the first batch of volunteers to take up the post, mainly to provide liaison, reception, translation and other services for the Olympic family members from the International Olympic Committee.

"I hope that I can do a good job in service work, become friends with more international friends, and show the positive, enthusiastic and upward image of Chinese youth to the world." This is the goal that Yu Zhongqi has set for himself, and it is also the voice of every Winter Olympic volunteer.

Similar to Yu Zhongqi, Li Xiwen, a young teacher from Beijing Normal University, also ushered in his own "double Olympic" journey.

As a volunteer at the Beijing Olympics, Li Xiwen was a college student. From students to teachers, from the Summer Olympics to the Winter Olympics, the former "Bird's Nest Generation" is growing up and sublimating the Olympic dream with practical actions.

Today, as the volunteer manager of the National Speed Skating Hall, Li Xiwen mainly assists in volunteer training in more than 20 business areas in the venue, involving field exploration, psychological counseling, epidemic prevention arrangements and other contents. Work is busy, although his family is in Beijing for the New Year during the Spring Festival, Li Xiwen has not been able to reunite with his family.

"This year with volunteers for the New Year, doing a good job in service and security work is also a rare life experience." Li Xiwen said, "The association with the Olympic Games is a major event in my life that is always worth remembering. ”

In the 2008 Olympic Games, the smiles of volunteers became the best business card of Beijing; in 2022, Beijing became the first "City of The Two Olympics", and the volunteer spirit of "dedication, fraternity, mutual assistance and progress" has become the value choice of more and more Chinese youth in the new era.

Warm up the arena and show dedication

As a person who came out of the northeast, a place where "everything can be frozen quickly", Zhang Hongbo bluntly said that he still underestimated the low temperature of Chongli: "After standing for a long time, the wind blowing from the valley seems to be able to blow people through, and the bone-chilling cold." ”

The yanshan university senior is a volunteer in the Zhangjiakou division of the Winter Olympics. Zhang Hongbo's job, which is simple and simple, is to check whether the documents of referees and athletes are complete at the entrance of the track.

But it's hard, and it's really hard. Whether it's practice or competition, as long as the track is open, you need to be on duty, and the race day usually works until the end of the race and the awards, and volunteers stand in shifts in the snow until the evening.

Although the conditions were difficult, Zhang Hongbo never complained and cherished this rare experience more and more. "The work of the Winter Olympic volunteers is very attractive, and I am lucky to learn a lot while helping others and have the opportunity to be successfully selected."

On the stage of the Winter Olympics, the volunteers who are active in the competition venues perform their duties and work hard to ensure the smooth presentation of wonderful events.

Li Sida is also one of them, as a Zhangjiakou person, he has loved skiing since he was a child, and this time he held the Winter Olympics in front of his home, and he signed up as a volunteer for the first time.

He is one of the 5 different timing points in the arena where Li Star works, each of which has an observer. Observers are the equivalent of manual timekeepers, and for each athlete they pass, they are required to enter the information on their number cloth into the timing scoring system. These jobs become important when there is a problem with electronic devices.

At the open-air timekeeping point where the cold wind whistled, Li Sida and his companions often froze their hands and feet numb. But for this moment, from spoken English to the common sense of the Winter Olympics to emergency drills, he has worked hard in every training for several months, just to be foolproof when serving the event.

A "sky blue", a fiery heart. One by one, the Winter Olympic volunteers like them rushed to the two places and three divisions, warming every corner of the arena.

Attentive service, warm and thoughtful

As the night grew darker, the hall on the first floor of the main media center of the Beijing Winter Olympics was still brightly lit, and many of them were busy with volunteers.

What are the routes, frequencies and schedules of closed-loop vehicles on the second day, and how to transfer across zones... In front of the traffic information desk, Guan Qiyun, a volunteer from Beijing Forestry University, posted a bilingual schematic map to solve these problems.

"There are more and more popular events, and we have come up with this method, using mapping software to create mind maps and tables, so that everyone can intuitively and clearly understand this information." Guan Qiyun said.

Since arriving at the main media center in early January, she and her classmates have been working in three shifts a day until the end of the Beijing Winter Paralympic Games.

Despite the long time span, guan Qiyun and his classmates' enthusiasm has not diminished in the slightest: "It is our happiest thing to be able to help everyone, and it is very fortunate and happy to have the opportunity to contribute to the Winter Olympics." ”

Flowing blue and white landscapes, brilliant youthful smiling faces, singing the praises of youth.

"The toilet in the room is blocked, can you send someone to help deal with it" "What time is the hotel convenience store open"... Solving various problems for expatriates in the closed-loop hotel has become the daily routine of Chen Jianfei, a junior at Beijing Second Foreign Chinese College.

Since entering the city in mid-January, she and Zhang Xuexin, a student of Capital University of Economics and Business, and Sun Ruonan, a student of Beijing Vocational College of Political Science and Law, have served as volunteers in the business field of Beijing Tarim Petroleum Hotel Accommodation, giving full play to their language advantages and building a bridge of communication between hotels and foreign guests.

"To a certain extent, we play the role of the hotel front desk staff, fully appreciate their hardships in volunteer service, and also improve their ability to solve problems independently, which is a rare practice." Chen Jianfei said.

Due to the different nature of work, volunteers in the accommodation business field could not go to the scene to watch the game, but they smiled and told reporters that they were not sorry: "The division of volunteer service is different, and the experience here is our own 'Winter Olympic moment'." ”

There is no rhetoric, only silent dedication; regardless of personal gains and losses, only for the convenience of others, this is the best footnote to the spirit of volunteerism.
