Jia Tinglu told reporters that since the beginning of my freshman year, I have joined the school's Youth Volunteer Association, and I think that volunteers contribute to others, dedicate their own strength, and provide help to others, so I like the work of volunteer service.
Recruiting volunteers on the eve of the Beijing Winter Olympics fulfilled Jia Tinglu's dream. With excellent quality, she and 300 students from the Communication University of China, Beijing City College and China University of Geosciences (Beijing) stood out from more than 800 applicants.
After rigorous training, the Beijing News Center began to operate on February 1, 2022, and Jia Tinglu officially became a volunteer in the press release department, "Trained us to answer questions including our etiquette and posture, etc., and I was mainly responsible for the guidance and check-in of the press conference." The daily working hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and I usually get up at 5:30 a.m. and leave from school at 6 o'clock. Jia Tinglu told reporters.
For Jia Tinglu, becoming a volunteer for the first time, especially dealing with the media, is very novel and challenging: "I have never experienced it before, everyone is very professional, I am also very novel. I enjoy volunteering and new media work and hope to take this opportunity to learn more and improve myself. ”
Up to now, the 2022 Beijing Press Center has held three press conferences, each of which has been attended by more than 50 global media and nearly 100 journalists. Jia Tinglu, who is in charge of docking, wants to say to each participating reporter, "Hello, please leave your contact information here". A press conference, similar words to repeat nearly a hundred times.
When there is no press conference, Jia Tinglu and her friends will greet the visiting reporters at the entrance of the information desk and press conference hall. Although the work is hard, Jia Tinglu, who loves volunteer work, does not feel the slightest tiredness. The only regret is that this year's Chinese New Year's Eve, did not accompany the grandfather who happened to have a birthday to celebrate the New Year, "the Spring Festival has not been at home, because it needs to be trained in advance, so it is impossible to go home in Beijing." Just happened to catch up with the Chinese New Year's Eve on the day my grandfather had a birthday, but also very sorry, and the family video to say goodbye to the New Year, I hope that there will be some compensation after that, go home and accompany the elderly more. ”
