The second batch of West Germany in 1955; the third batch of Spain in 1982; the reunification of Germany in 1990;

The fourth batch of Czech, Hungarian and Polish in 1999;

Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia in 2004;

Albania and Croatia in the sixth batch in 2009;

Montenegro in the seventh batch in 2017 and North Macedonia in the eighth batch in 2020.

Russia's counterattack was to take back Crimea's outlet in 2014. Now the situation in Ukraine has also led Russia to start deploying troops.
