Ross Young says he no longer expects the new iMac Pro to launch in the spring, and it now seems more likely that a "summer" launch will be possible. The panels are expected to start shipping in June and release in August or September.

Apple's Mini LED iMac Pro will be released this summer

Back in December, Ross Young said the iMac Pro with Mini LED display would launch in the spring, and Bloomberg's Gurman also believed the device could make its debut in the spring, which is expected to take place in March or April.

According to Gurman, Apple's spring activities will focus on the iPhone SE 3 5G, the iPad Air 5 with updated A-series chips, and at least one new Mac powered by Apple's Silicon chips. Gurman thinks this Mac could be the new Mini LED iMac or Mac mini, and based on Young's new data, if Gurman's information is confirmed, it looks like we might see the new Mac mini before upgrading the iMac.

Rumor has it that Apple is developing a 27-inch iMac that will be sold with a smaller 24-inch iMac. The new iMac will feature Mini LED backlighting, but Ross Young said today that he thinks its Mini LED area will be less than the Mini LED's iPad Pro and MacBook Pro models.

The 27-inch iMac is expected to see Apple restore the name of the "iMac Pro" to distinguish it from the 24-inch iMac and align it with the naming of the MacBook Pro model. The iMac Pro will include the same M1 Pro and M1 Max chips as the MacBook Pro model, as well as an updated design with a thinner black bezel and perhaps new color options.
