【Electric Dog】

Sharp has just released two new models in Japan, of which AQUOS' latest model, the AQUOS R7, will be available after July 2022, with NTT DoCoMo and SoftBank in charge of the launch.

The AQUOS R7 features a 6.6-inch (WUXGA+) Pro IGZO OLED display (organic EL) that supports variable refresh rates from 1 to 240Hz, peak brightness of 2,000 nits, 1 billion colors, and is Compatible with Dolby Vision, with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus glass on both the display and back.

In addition, the machine supports "intelligent color matching", "outdoor vision", "AI super resolution", "virtual HDR" and can interpolate images, using off-screen 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition sensor.

The machine is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage space, retaining a 3.5 mm headphone jack, supporting 1TB microSD card expansion and FeliCa function.

Compatible with 5G SA (Stand Alone) networks, the machine has the highest communication performance in the history of AQUOS, with a maximum downlink speed of 4.9 Gbps and a maximum uplink speed of 1.1 Gbps.

In terms of imaging, the machine is equipped with a newly developed 1-inch 47MP sensor + a Summicron lens (ranging) supervised by Leica. The nanoscale low-reflection treatment is said to reduce reflections by 60% compared to the AQUOS R6, with an F-value of 1.9 and an equivalent focal length of 19mm.

The Summicron lens maintains a constant focal length of 35mm, covering the focal length from ultra-wide angle to telephoto, with a front-facing 12.6 MEGApixel lens, an F-value 2.3 lens, and a focal length of 27m.

Thanks to the new sensor, its pixel size (pixel pitch) is 3.2um, the amount of light is approximately 1.8 times higher than that of the AQUOS R6, and the number of pixels has increased from 20.2 megapixels to 47.2 megapixels, making it better to image in high-resolution mode.

It also supports "Octa PD AF" focusing speeds that double that of the AQUOS R6. In addition, the machine supports AI to automatically detect people, faces and eyes, claiming that AI processing speed is 1.5 times faster than AQUOS R6.

The machine also uses QBC (Pixel Four-in-One) technology, which can maintain a high-definition state when switching modes, and the "Super Resolution Zoom" can continue to be available, and supports use in combination with QBC to take more vivid photos.

The user interface of the Camera app has also changed, with HDR shooting being processed in the background and easier to do while doing things like burst shooting. Furthermore. In HDR shooting, noise is reduced compared to the past due to compositing in raw state.

The machine is available in black and silver, but the silver version of the AQUOS R7 SH-52C, which DoCoMo is responsible for, is only available on the DoCoMo online store and will donate 1% of the proceeds to the Japanese Red Cross.

In other aspects, the machine built-in 5000mAh battery, fast charging is unknown, but support wireless charging (Qi), support IPX5 and IPX8 waterproof, IP6X dustproof and Osaifu-Keitai, built-in speakers are larger, pre-installed Android 12 system, support NFC and Bluetooth 5.2, other information and other information announced when listed.
