IT House understands that Omdia's latest research report says that the penetration rate of mini-LED laptop panels may reach 3% in 2022. Thanks to Apple's 14.2 and 16.2-inch mini-LED MacBook models launched late last year, mini-LED laptop penetration surged to 1.6% in 2021.

Omdia predicts that in 2022, more mini-LED laptop panel projects will be planned to strengthen the PC market demand, as the PC market is expected to experience a decline in demand, especially for mainstream models. Therefore, high-end laptop panel models will become a key strategic trend between panel manufacturers and PC brands this year. However, due to the growing demand for OLED laptop panels in the coming years, there are still many uncertain risks and challenges to the demand for mini-LED laptop panels.
