In 2008, Ma Keqiang founded the Beijing Jincai Art Library, which became the largest artist networking platform in China. In addition to art, Marco Qiang has always had a special love for sports. As early as when Beijing was still bidding for the 2022 Winter Olympics, he organized the painter to paint a long scroll, "Beijing-Hebei Winter Music Map", with a total length of 20.22 meters, which means "2022". This long scroll includes three major themes of ice and snow culture, Spring Festival culture, and Great Wall culture, starting from the Temple of Heaven in Beijing and going all the way to Chongli, Hebei Province, which contains 12 groups of buildings, 12 Winter Olympic events, 12 traditional winter sports in the north, and 2022 figures.
As the Winter Olympics approached, Ma Keqiang had another idea to once again present the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. "The International Olympic Committee has a total of 206 member countries and regions, so we wondered if we could use traditional Chinese painting to paint the national flowers and famous flowers of various countries and show the beauty of the flowers of various countries." Ma Keqiang said that the reason for choosing the flower theme is mainly because the flower is not related to any political and religious color, and it is suitable for all ages, and everyone will have a good mood when they see the flowers.
Soon, more than 60 well-known flower and bird painters from all over the country participated. There are also flower experts who check the approval of flowers in various countries, and finally strictly determine 206 kinds of flowers. According to reports, this creation involves a variety of traditional Chinese painting techniques, such as gong pen, freehand, boneless, small freehand, etc., but the main technique is still based on the gong pen.
More than 60 painters spent about three months to complete 206 works, named "Flowers of Olympic Art", hoping to use the beauty of art and the beauty of flowers to "add icing on the cake" to Olympic culture, show the realm of the world family of "the beauty of each other, beauty and commonality", and use the hundred flowers of the world to bless the complete success of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
The participating painters are very supportive of Marco Qiang's creativity, which is not enough, they are planning the next step, hoping to organize painters across the country to create for more than 90 cities that have hosted the Olympic Games. Marco Qiang thinks that this matter is also very meaningful, and they already have a certain foundation. "In 2007, we organized 200 famous painters from all over the country to paint United Nations works, that is, 192 member states and 8 international organizations." Marco Qiang said that at that time, one person painted a national landmark picture, such as the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal in India, the Pyramids of Egypt, the Eiffel Tower in France, etc., forming a set of "United Nations on paper".
