The Chinese Cultural Center in Seoul hosts a series of cultural events to celebrate the Spring Festival and the Winter Olympics

"Paper-cutting to welcome the New Year and build the Winter Olympic Dream - Koreans learn Longjiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Paper-cutting Activity" was held online on the 22nd, kicking off the prelude to the online activities of the 2022 Happy Spring Festival in South Korea. More than 60 students from the Chinese language class of the Seoul Chinese Culture Center and local primary and secondary school students in South Korea gathered online to cut window flowers with their hands and talk about the Winter Olympics.

Under the leadership of Teacher Ni Xiumei, the inheritor of china's national intangible cultural heritage folk paper-cutting art, everyone's scissors are flexible, colored paper is flying, and the students have successively cut out snowflakes and "strong tiger" paper-cutting patterns from binding, cutting, and emptying to detail processing and molding. The students said that through learning, they experienced the charm of paper-cutting craftsmanship and felt the colorful splendor of Chinese New Year culture. The event cheered for the Winter Olympics by creating paper-cut works of "Tiggo Chengxiang", wished for the Spring Festival of the common festival between China and South Korea, and expressed the good wishes for the long-term friendship between China and South Korea with the art on the fingertips.

On the 24th, the "Tigers and Tigers - Chinese Zodiac Cultural and Creative Exhibition" was launched on the official website of the Chinese Cultural Center in Seoul, inviting the people of China and South Korea to gather on the "cloud" during the global anti-epidemic period to share the Chinese New Year culture and spend the beautiful New Year together.

2022 "Tiger Tiger Life Style - Chinese Zodiac Cultural and Creative Exhibition" combines the zodiac tiger and winter cultural tourism, the main axis of the exhibition takes the annual zodiac animals, traditional Chinese culture and art and characteristic tourism as the theme, and invites the cultural and creative design platforms on both sides of the Chinese strait to participate together, select cultural and creative design products with the zodiac tiger as the image, integrate the young generation's understanding of the traditional zodiac culture and tiger image, and transform the tiger culture into a popular and fashion symbol.

This exhibition aims to present Chinese festival culture through four major sections, such as the Zodiac Tiger Year Cultural Exhibition, the Winter Cultural Tourism Exhibition, the Tiger Year Cultural and Creative Products Exhibition, and the Year of the Tiger Handicraft Experience, to display Chinese traditional culture in a creative and innovative way, to bring together outstanding cultural and creative and tourism resources on both sides of the strait, and to jointly present Chinese festival culture.

In order to further enhance the Korean people's understanding and love for the Spring Festival, this cultural and creative exhibition specially launched the "Zodiac Tiger Handmade Experience" section, with five kinds of handicraft experiences, including "Tiger Aunt Mask", "Tiger Door Handle Hanging Ornament", "Tiger Year Red Packet Bag", "Tiger Head Shoes" and "Paper-cut Bookmark". Viewers can follow the video tutorial and use props available throughout the home to create their favorite tiger-shaped handicrafts.

The opening ceremony of "Blessings for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics Art Works Exchange Exhibition" and "Passion Together, Together to the Future - China-Korea Winter Olympics Photo Exchange Exhibition" was held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Seoul on the 25th. The paintings, calligraphy and sculptures of the Beijing Winter Olympics, as well as the pictures and videos of the China-South Korea Winter Olympics, which were carefully created by Chinese and Korean artists, officially met with the Korean people on the same day.

Chinese Ambassador to the ROK Xing Haiming said in his opening speech that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the ROK and is the year of Sino-ROK cultural exchanges, and hopes that China and the ROK can take this opportunity to unite the Olympic spirit of unity and fraternity, further strengthen people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, promote the common ground between the two peoples, and promote the strategic cooperative partnership between China and the ROK to go steady and far.

In his speech, Che Honggui, president of the Korea-China Art Association, expressed his heartfelt joy and congratulations to Beijing for hosting the Winter Olympics on the occasion of the auspicious Year of the Tiger. He said that the gathering of Korean and Chinese artists at the Chinese Cultural Center in Seoul to hold the Winter Olympic Exchange Exhibition reflects the sincere wish of Chinese and Korean artists to hope for the success of the Beijing Winter Olympics, which is of far-reaching significance.

Wang Yanjun, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in South Korea and Director of the Seoul Chinese Cultural Center, said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, and the Seoul Chinese Cultural Center will further integrate online teaching and cultural tourism under the premise of strengthening epidemic prevention, focusing on a series of brand activities to better show the wonderful cultural tourism of beautiful China to the Chinese and Korean people.
