BRUSSELS, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- On the eve of the Spring Festival in the Year of the Tiger, more than 10 Belgian children learning Chinese came to the Chinese Cultural Center in Brussels to "depict" the Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger with their brushes in their hands.

On the same day, the "Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger in My Heart" Belgian children's handwritten postcard activity was held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Brussels. Under the guidance of the teacher, children from the Longlong Chinese Class in Ghent, Belgium, wrote hand-drawn postcards of the Year of the Tiger on the spot to experience the Chinese New Year with their children's "fantastic ideas".

During the activity, the children also learned to write blessing characters and cut spring flowers, learned about the traditional cultural customs and interesting stories of the Chinese New Year such as the Zodiac, and received the "Spring Festival Blessing Bag" full of New Year blessings.

According to reports, this handwritten postcard activity is one of the series of activities of the "Happy Spring Festival" in Belgium in 2022. Liu Hongge, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Belgium, said that with the help of the paintbrush in his hand, the children expressed their dreams with innocence and explored the Chinese Spring Festival culture with wisdom, showing the beautiful expectations and blessings of Belgian children for the New Year of the Tiger.
