In the past, women living in the countryside had to master two housekeeping skills from an early age, one was to do needlework, the other was to cut window flowers, only by learning these two manual tasks well and mastering well, was a woman who was liked. Lei Meili was born in a family with folk traditional paper-cutting art, and her grandmother and mother are both heirs of folk paper-cutting in northern Shaanxi. Influenced by her family, she has loved folk paper-cutting art since she was a child. During the New Year's Festival, she followed her grandmother and mother to write window flowers. Usually, if anyone in the village needs the word "囍" for marriage celebrations, she will take the initiative to cut it for others, not only sticking kung fu, but also pasting paper, in order to love paper-cutting. Over time, I developed a habit and cultivated an interest in paper-cutting, plus I was able to study and endure hardships, and slowly my paper-cutting skills became more and more skillful. From the beginning of imitating other people's pattern cuts, to later painting their own patterns to create cuts, in the field of folk traditional art of paper cutting, cut out a broad world.

Raymi's love of paper-cutting was almost to the point of fascination. As long as she has time, she will hold a small pair of scissors, carry out paper-cutting art creation, and between various colors of paper and scissors, she will shine her youth and accompany the years.

As a teacher, in addition to insisting on paper-cutting creation, Lei Meili also brought this traditional culture to the campus and brought it to teachers and students. Nearly a thousand teachers and students learned to cut paper under her careful teaching and guidance, and even liked paper cutting. In 2014, the school organized 12 students to participate in the "West Bund Cup" Paper-cutting Works Invitational Competition (Children's Group) competition held by Tianjin Municipality, and everyone won the prize, and she herself won the Outstanding Instructor Award. Reading Lei's beautiful paper-cut works, giving people more impressions of delicacy, image, vividness, paper-cutting lines with moderate thickness and reasonableness. It is not only realistic, but also has its "charm". Her early paper-cut work "Back to the Mother's Home" vividly and delicately cuts the joyful mood of a rural woman carrying a child and carrying a flower basket back to her mother's home, vividly and delicately, which is real and simple, and has both form and spirit. A series of paper-cut works of folk tales such as "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea" and "Zodiac Signs" have clear lines and are vivid, which makes her paper-cutting creation reach a new realm.

Northern Shaanxi has always been the place with the most paper-cutting performance in Shaanxi and even in the whole north, Lei Meimei was born in northern Shaanxi and lives in this yellow land that she loves very much, and most of her paper-cutting works are derived from the people and things that happen here, the natural scenery here. She shows what she hears and sees, through artistic creation, in a paper-cut manner, to the public. Her paper-cut works are traditional, folk and modern. The works "Love of the Three Sides" and "Loess Love" fully embody the desire of young men and women living in the land of northern Shaanxi to pursue a happy and beautiful life.
