Previously, 18-year-old girl Meng Meng was hospitalized for paraquat poisoning. On December 29, 2021, the local police reported that Meng Meng's brother-in-law Chen Mou felt that his family's economic conditions were poor, and his father-in-law's family "looked down on himself", so he had the idea of retaliation, and on the evening of December 5, after diluting the remaining herbicide in the family with water, he let Meng Meng take it twice, causing her to be poisoned. Chen was arrested by the police on December 28 on suspicion of intentional homicide.
After being poisoned, Meng Meng was transferred to the Eighth Medical Center of the Beijing Platter General Hospital on January 5, 2022. At about 3 o'clock on the 7th, Chen Jingyu, vice president of Wuxi People's Hospital, completed a double lung transplant for him, and his postoperative vital signs were stable. "The little girl was poisoned, and she may need to take medicine for life after surgery."
