"Gesar" is a thousand years of Tibetan legendary hero King Gesar descended the demon Voldemort, suppressed the strong and the weak, and benefited the people, known as the "Homer epic of the East", also known as the world's longest, largest and only "living" folk literature.
Jinguo Tsering Phuntsok, director of the Institute of Ethnic Studies of the Tibet Autonomous Region Academy of Social Sciences, introduced that since the early 1980s, the Academy of Social Sciences of the Tibet Autonomous Region began to rescue the recording of the epic rap story of the elderly Samdrup "Gesar", and until the death of the elderly, a total of 2114 hours of rap stories had been recorded. In 2000, the rescue and sorting out of the Tibetan rap book of the elderly Samdrup was officially launched, and 45 (48 volumes) of the epic story of "Gesar" were edited and published, with a total of more than 520,000 poems in a full series, which is nearly twice the sum of the world's five major epics.
Born in 1922, Samdrup had wandered around selling art before the peaceful liberation of Tibet. In his rap career for many years, he has continuously absorbed proverbs, songs, production and life terms from all over Tibet, which is loved by the vast number of farmers and herdsmen in Tibet, and is praised by the academic circles as a "language master" and a "national treasure-level talent". In 2011, Samdrup died in his hometown of Mozhugongka County, Lhasa, at the age of 90.
