On January 27, according to the announcement on the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation, SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulations in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products.

According to the announcement, SAIC-GM-Wuling decided to recall some Wuling Hongguang S3 and new Wuling Hongguang S cars produced between July 10, 2017 and March 26, 2021, with a total of 609,779 vehicles, starting from March 10, 2022.

It is reported that the manual transmission parts of some vehicles within the scope of this recall are manufactured oversized, resulting in insufficient gear retention, and occasional dissembly of 6 gears under specific working conditions, resulting in temporary power transmission interruptions of vehicles, and there may be safety hazards in extreme cases.

The announcement also shows that SAIC-GM-Wuling will conduct free inspections of vehicles within the scope of the recall, and replace transmission maintenance components for vehicles that are confirmed to be defective after inspection to eliminate safety hazards.

In addition, SAIC-GM-Wuling also announced emergency disposal measures to car owners: if the above situation occurs during the use of the vehicle, it can be re-hung up to the 6th gear or other gears to continue driving, and timely contact the special service center of SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. to deal with it.
