In the Square Area of Yanqing Village, the flags of the delegations fluttered in the sun. "The flag array of Yanqing Village is set up in the parking lot, giving athletes from all over the world a feeling of being at home!" Samaranch sighed.
Among the three Winter Olympic villages, Yanqing Village receives the largest number of delegations, and will receive about 1,200 athletes and team officials from more than 90 delegations during the Winter Olympics. In the preparatory process, Yanqing Village closely combined Olympic elements, Chinese characteristics and local traditions, and applied the concept of sustainability to building materials and energy supply. Samaranch fully affirmed the preparatory work for Yanqing Village.
Subsequently, he visited the square area, the truce mural, the ruins of Xiaozhuanghu Village, the traditional Chinese culture exhibition area and the traditional Chinese medicine exhibition area. "The image landscape design of the square area is full of ice and snow style, the traditional culture display area is decorated with unique Chinese colors, and the Xiaozhuanghu Village Heritage Park and the Ice Great Wall are full of new ideas, which will surely present the most beautiful Winter Olympic Village for the world." Along the way, he learned more about the situation in the village and communicated with the staff and volunteers.

In the athletes' restaurant, samaranch was dazzled by the variety of Chinese and Western cuisine, "I was like a little boy in a toy store, I didn't know how to choose." Samaranch's father was also an old friend of China's. "Chinese people are doers, and I haven't been to China for two years because of the epidemic." Samaranch said bluntly that in the past, Yanqing Village was just a dream on the drawings, but now, everything has become a reality. Finally, Yanqing Winter Olympic Village also presented Samaranch with a traditional folk art with a history of more than 1,000 years - Beijing Silk People. "The red one is the ancient Chinese heroine Mu Guiying, representing bravery, wisdom and beauty, and the yellow one is the famous character of the Chinese mythological story, Sun Wukong, the monkey king."
