Since 2014, the scope of the "National Popular Ice and Snow Season" has continued to expand, from the first session, which only includes 10 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities to participate in the seventh session, covering 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and more than half of the prefecture-level cities in the country.
The number of participants in the ice and snow season has continued to increase, from about 10 million in 2014 to nearly 100 million in the seventh year.

As of the beginning of 2021, there are 654 standard ice rinks in the country, an increase of 317% over 2015; there are 803 indoor and outdoor ski resorts in the country, an increase of 41% over 2015. By the end of 2020, there are 50 indoor ice rinks and 20 ski resorts in Beijing.
Rapid promotion among teenagers
The "Beijing Olympic Education for Primary and Secondary School Students and the Series of Activities for Ice and Snow entering the Campus" has been carried out for three consecutive years since 2019, covering nearly 200,000 primary and secondary school students in nearly 200 primary and secondary schools in the city.
Since 2018, the Ministry of Education has selected and built national youth campus ice and snow sports characteristic schools nationwide, and as of 2020, the number of national ice and snow special schools has reached 2062.

In 2019, the FIS City Cross-Country Skiing Points Race and the FIS China Roller Skating World Cup settled in Beijing, and in the same year, Beijing successfully hosted 5 international ice and snow events. The World Figure Skating Grand Prix has been held in Chongqing in 2019 and 2020.
The level of competition has improved by leaps and bounds
The national training teams in the ice and snow event have steadily improved their performance in international competitions, and the total number of medals has increased from 42 in 2015 to 69 in 2019, of which the total number of medals in the snow event has nearly doubled, from 16 in 2015 to 31.
The construction of the talent team has achieved fruitful results
Registered athletes in snow sports are growing rapidly. From 2015 to 2020, the number of registered athletes in mainland ice and snow sports increased by 123%.
Individual sports associations in ice and snow projects have developed rapidly. As of December 2021, there are 792 ice and snow sports social organizations officially registered in the mainland at all levels, including 8 national associations, 32 provincial associations, and 752 other ice and snow sports social organizations, which is 2.89 times the number of ice and snow sports social organizations in 2015.
