Recently, the American wearable technology company EKTO VR released the robot motion system Ekto One wheel boot, which can be used with VIVE Tracker, and the wheels on the sole will automatically correct the standing position of the wearer playing in VR.
It is understood that the Ekto One is made of tough carbon fiber material, and each boot is equipped with a pair of Vive Trackers, allowing the VR headset to track the wearer's feet in real time. As you walk forward, the electric wheels at the bottom of each boot subtly reposition the wearer to their original starting position. Before starting the boots, the wearer can take a few steps forward so that he can better adapt to his virtual environment.
Speaking of Ekto One, Brad Factor, founder and CEO of EKTO VR, said: "Many users who have experienced the demo experience react positively to walking into the room, and users will ask a lot of questions, including are the boots worn?" Are they at work? Near the edge of the room? They are immersed in the environment as if they have no idea where they are. ”
The EKTO VR program Ekto One will launch a beta version for partners in the first half of 2022 and is only available for industrial applications. The beta version will sell for between about $15,000 and about $20,000. As they continue to expand their trading volume, Factor hopes to eventually cut the price below $1,000.
