I was very impressed by Wen Yao's undergraduate graduation work, and perhaps at that time, guan zhan talked to her about some problems of finding self-understanding, which also left some impressions on her, so today she asked me to write something. In the past three years, Wen Yao has completed the various studies of graduate students with great excellence and demonstrated them through graduation creations, and won the honor of outstanding works of graduate students.
The excellence of Wen Yao's works in various periods tells us that her talent shows no signs of weakening. From the undergraduate work "Growing Up Childhood" to the graduate student work "A Landscape that Wants to Talk and Stop", the creative thinking is clear and calm, her steps have a clear direction, never deviate from the scriptures, and now it seems that this is very suitable for Wen Yao, who has a quiet temperament. Finding a learning method that suits you and persevering in perfecting it is in itself a clear self-knowledge. Wen Yao's creative sequence clearly describes his inner sensitivity, delicacy and sincerity, and the use of artistic techniques is handy and touching.
Artists communicate directly with themselves, and their hearts must be focused and confident, whether it is Dürer, Rembrandt or Van Gogh, etc., the feelings they pay are sincere and moving. Wen Yao chose to take himself as a model early to enter the question of self, from the work "Growing Up Childhood" in the bath of the teenager just like the dew of youth can not stop moving with the wind, the inappropriate adult costume naughtily jokes, the fairy tale crystal shoes have finished the childhood story, the cat is not lazy, spoiled but with a mysterious look at the sisters in the painting.
The preciousness of human emotions is always blocked and weakened in reality, and it is not easy to see the richness of emotions clearly, both for people and for oneself. Wen Yao's understanding of art history has established an inextricable relationship with his own works without a trace. In the next postgraduate study, Wen Yao completed the improvement of technology and the overall regulation of art, and "A Landscape of Wanting to Talk and Stopping" walked into the scenery of wanting to talk and stopping, which was unforgettable!
In Wen Yao's creation, I am very happy to see the projection of her "self". This projection is not only because she is depicting herself as a model in the whole picture, but also the high degree of harmony and unity of her entire temperament and the style of the picture. This unity stems from the truth of life and the self, and is not deliberately showy and opportunistic. In "A Landscape That Wants to Talk and Stop", she uses the obscurity of the wedding dress to cover up her inner contradictions and struggles, but the decoration of the wedding dress is thorns and thorns, the scissors in her hand and the calm look, etc., the picture is the same as herself, the surface is peaceful and quiet, but may be restless inside. The protagonist in the picture who lifts the turban (although the paintings are all the same person), people who know Wen Yao know that it is her. It's just that we are glad that we can see through the picture that she personally portrayed herself - a kind of Wen Yao who presents herself and her heart in its entirety. I also lamented that Wen Yao's control of technology and picture style made a state of "wanting to talk and stopping" just right. Reading the picture is very pleasant because it is real.
