BYD's new energy passenger car insurance number reached 95,062 in December, accounting for 89% of its total passenger car insurance, an increase of 218.7% year-on-year and 12.9% month-on-month. Among them, 50,607 pure electric vehicle models were insured, an increase of 143.9% year-on-year and 7.4% month-on-month; 44,455 plug-in hybrid vehicles were insured, an increase of 389.3% year-on-year and 19.7% month-on-month.
The growth rate of the flagship model Han is more obvious. In December, the number of Han EVs was 9960 and the number of HanDMs was 3236. At the city level, the total number of insurance in Han EV and Han DM accounted for 73.6% of first- and second-tier cities, and 44.3% in cities with non-restricted purchase restrictions, of which the proportion of non-restricted cities showed an upward trend.
From the perspective of specific city distribution, the top three cities with insurance numbers on HanEV are Shenzhen, Shanghai and Guangzhou, accounting for 8.7%, 6.6% and 4.4% respectively, accounting for a total of 19.7%. The top three cities with the highest number of insurance on Han DM are Shenzhen, Shanghai and Hangzhou, accounting for 17.0%, 12.3% and 4.6% respectively, accounting for 33.9% of the total.

As the largest model of the BYD Dynasty, the sales of Qin PLUS EV are shifting from the B-end operation and rental market to the C-end personal consumption, and the sales volume in non-restricted purchase cities is rising rapidly. In December, Qin PLUS EV accounted for 76.6% and 23.4% of non-operating and leased vehicles, respectively.
Qin EV and Qin Pro EV still occupy an important position in the B-side rental market. Judging from the number of insurance on the rental side in December, among the top ten models, Qin EV and Qin Pro EV have entered the list, ranking fifth and seventh respectively, accounting for 4.3% and 3.5% respectively.
