A few days ago, at the Snowboard World Cup in Austria, I achieved the ideal ranking, which also allowed me to finally qualify for the Beijing Winter Olympics and was lucky enough to catch the last train to Beijing.
The Beijing Winter Olympics will be the third Winter Olympics I have participated in. In snowboarding, I was the only one in my native Bulgaria who qualified for the final competition, which is both regrettable and proud. Because the Competition for the Winter Olympics is fierce, it is a great honor for all countries to be able to achieve good results at the Winter Olympics! In order to achieve good results in the Olympic Games, all countries will send their best athletes and provide them with the best training conditions, help them eliminate worries, maintain concentration, and go all out in the competition to win glory for the country. From the athlete's point of view, we also want to play our best in the Olympic Games.
I believe that the organization of the Beijing Winter Olympics is of a very high standard – although everything will become very different due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the hosts will face unprecedented difficulties. China will rely on the most modern and advanced technical means to ensure the absolute safety of the participants and all staff of the Winter Olympic Games, including strict implementation of closed-loop management, daily nucleic acid testing of people in the closed-loop, and even the details of dining and shopping in the Olympic Village are very thoughtful.
The Olympic Games have always been a stage for friendly exchanges and friendships among the world's best athletes. Although during the Beijing Winter Olympics, the contact between athletes from all countries will inevitably be restricted due to the epidemic, in the context of the current pandemic, all measures taken by the Beijing Winter Olympics are very necessary.
In my heart, the Winter Olympics are a beautiful and desirable event. At the Winter Olympics, I had the opportunity to meet some of the top sports stars on the planet – they were highly skilled and respectable, and I could learn a lot from them. In this sense, I think all of our athletes should be grateful to Beijing, and it is precisely because the hosts are not afraid of difficulties and actively prepare for the 24th Winter Olympics to be held as scheduled, and we athletes have the opportunity to live up to the efforts of the past four years and enjoy the Olympic stage.
In today's complex world, humanity desperately needs to be united through the Olympic Games. As the theme slogan of the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, "Together to the Future", is to express: we will achieve nothing by fighting alone; and when we unite and strive for the same goal, all difficulties will be solved! In the face of the test of the epidemic, only by joining hands and working together in the same boat can human beings get out of the haze of the epidemic as soon as possible and let our lives truly return to normal!
