During the War of Resistance Against Japan, he was captured by the Japanese puppet army as a Zhuangding, and in a rare escape in a battle, but he was captured by the Kuomintang troops, and then he joined the Kuomintang troops, until after the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, his unit began to attack the Liberated Areas, but under the engagement between the two sides, Chen Daquan's troops were surrounded by the People's Liberation Army, and this unit began to be in disarray, so it was completely annihilated by the People's Liberation Army, and Chen Daquan naturally became a prisoner of war.

Chen Daquan was ready to be mistreated, because he knew that the way the Kuomintang treated prisoners of war was very cruel, but in fact it was completely different from what he imagined.
After the Kuomintang captured the prisoners of war, they would ask all the prisoners of war to do hard work for themselves, and there was not a single meal at meal, and in the PLA troops, the PLA really gave preferential treatment to the prisoners, and everyone did not need to do hard work.
It was also during his time as a prisoner of war that he truly understood the nature of the People's Liberation Army and knew Chiang Kai-shek's ambitions, and soon after Chen Daquan completed the transformation and played a great role in the subsequent Liaoshen Campaign.
In the following time, Chen Daquan was always responsible for cleaning up the remnants of the Nationalist government and the bandit armed forces, and was later promoted to deputy squad leader, and after the end of the Liberation War, he was assigned to the northeast garrison, but the good times were not long.
When the Korean War broke out, all volunteers from all over the country rushed to Fight in Korea, and it was a kind of fate to meet them in this situation.

In October 1952, the famous Battle of Shangganling began, with the 15th Army and the 12th Army as the main force, a total of more than 43,000 superior troops, but if you want to win, you must first insert the enemy in the 391 heights of our army, but this task fell to Qiu Shaoyun's unit, the 29th Division of the 15th Army.
The 391 heights are a place of overgrown weeds, in order to reduce casualties and launch a surprise attack on the enemy, the 29th Division organized more than 500 people to secretly crawl to the front of the enemy position, Qiu Shaoyun was one of these more than 500 fighters, but the enemy army was also very vigilant, in order to prevent our army from attacking, from time to time it would strafe around and fire incendiary bombs.
Unfortunately, an incendiary bomb landed next to Qiu Shaoyun, and Mars splashed on him.
Qiu Shaoyun knew that as soon as he moved, he would abandon his previous achievements, and everyone would face death, which was not worth the loss, so Qiu Shaoyun in order not to be discovered by the enemy, even if the fire was getting bigger and bigger, he did not move at all, nor did he shout, just like this, Qiu Shaoyun let the fire develop, no matter how painful, he did not move until he was burned alive, this process is extremely painful, ordinary people are completely intolerable, and it is Qiu Shaoyun's selfless and collective spirit that makes it difficult for future generations to forget.
