On January 23, Nandu reporter learned from Credit China that recently, Xiaohongshu affiliate Xingyin Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was warned by the Shanghai Huangpu District Culture and Tourism Bureau for violating the Law on the Protection of Minors, and fined 300,000 yuan. Xiaohongshu told Nandu reporters that the source of the punishment was due to the problem of juvenile audit leakage mentioned in the CCTV report last December. Nandu reporter noted that the Xiaohongshu platform has been involved in the content review of minors many times before, and has also been interviewed by relevant departments.

According to the administrative punishment decision, the illegal facts of Xiaohongshu affiliated companies are: Network service providers discover that users publish or disseminate information containing content that endangers the physical and mental health of minors, do not immediately stop transmitting relevant information, and take measures such as deleting, blocking, or disconnecting links.

On January 23, Xiaohongshu responded to Nandu reporters that the punishment was due to the problem of juvenile audit leakage mentioned in the CCTV report last December. Xiaohongshu also said that "it will continue to improve the ability to identify bad information, continue to improve the ability of platform governance, and also welcome the majority of users to report bad information through the platform reporting channel, and the platform will deal with it at the first time."

The Xiaohongshu platform has repeatedly involved the content review of minors. In December 2021, according to CCTV, when parents of primary school students searched for "parent-child paradise" on the Xiaohongshu platform, they found that the platform pushed a lot of pictures and videos that exposed the privacy of minors, and many messages containing sexual innuendo appeared in the comment area.

In this regard, the Xiaohongshu platform publicly responded that some of the content mentioned in the report had been handled in the platform's previous juvenile special review. For real-name authentication issues, the platform strictly follows the relevant regulations to require real-name authentication for users, including newly registered users and users who publish notes and comments, and users who need to bind personal mobile phone numbers, and professional authentication and users with goods need to upload personal IDENTITY cards.

The Xiaohongshu platform also said that it will launch a new round of special actions for juvenile governance in the near future. Nandu reporter noted that subsequently, the Xiaohongshu platform announced the punishment for comments on illegal notes involving minors (the first phase), and the reasons for violations included illegal interactions involving minors, marketing by minors, and the publication of harassing comment interactive content on notes related to minors.

The Xiaohongshu platform has also been interviewed by relevant departments for content review involving minors. Nandu previously reported that in July 2021, in response to issues such as the dissemination of children's soft pornographic memes by platforms such as Kuaishou, Tencent QQ, Taobao, Sina Weibo, and Xiaohongshu, and the use of short videos with sexual innuendo from minors, the Internet information department interviewed the person in charge of the platform in accordance with the law, ordered rectification within a time limit, comprehensively cleaned up and disposed of relevant illegal information and accounts, and imposed fines and penalties on the platform.
