Inviting Minors to Sell Cosmetics in Other Places A woman in Xiao County was sentenced for child abduction

According to the Anhui Business Daily (reporter Zhang Jian) a woman in Xiao County, Zhao Moumou, invited a girl under the age of 14 to sell cosmetics in other places, and took her away without the knowledge of the girl's guardian. Zhao Moumou eventually committed the crime of child abduction and was recently sentenced to prison in the Xiao County Court.

In early October 2021, after Zhao Moumou and Xiaojuan (pseudonym) were added as WeChat friends, he recommended another identity of himself as "Lulu" to chat with him, and repeatedly persuaded and lured Xiaojuan to go to Fuzhou City to sell cosmetics with him to make money.

On the morning of October 16 of the same year, Zhao Moumou met Xiaojuan at a hotel in Xiao County, and then went to the restaurant for dinner together. During this period, Zhao Moumou knew that Xiaojuan was less than 14 years old, and repeatedly persuaded and induced Xiaojuan and others to go to Fuzhou City with him to sell cosmetics to make money.

On the morning of October 17, Zhao Moumou, without the knowledge of Xiao Juan's guardian, led Xiao Juan to leave her place of life and left Xiao County to Fuzhou City after buying a train ticket in Xiao County.

On October 18, Zhao Moumou was seized by the police of the train and handed over to the police station. Subsequently, Zhao Moumou was escorted back to Xiao County.

The court held that Zhao X, without the knowledge of the victim's guardian, took the minor under the age of 14 away from the family and guardian, and his conduct had violated the criminal law, constituting the crime of abducting children, and his voluntary admission of guilt and acceptance of punishment could be lenient, and the victim and his legally-designated representative could be forgiven, and the punishment could be mitigated.

Based on this, the court made a judgment that Zhao was guilty of child abduction and sentenced to one year and one month in prison.
