The Chinese New Year is just around the corner. Recently, Mr. and Mrs. Liang of Maoming, Guangdong Province, finally met their son Alei (pseudonym) who had been lost for more than 20 years in the meeting room of the Wushan Police Station of the Tianhe District Of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau. This long separation was finally reunited at this moment, and the touching scene of relatives meeting each other made everyone present moved.

While the grandparents took a nap, the 5-year-old grandson disappeared

Fast back to November 1, 1996, Mr. and Mrs. Liang's 5-year-old son, Alei, was lost in his hometown in Maoming. That day, While his grandparents were taking a nap, Are went to play alone on the side of the road in front of his home. By the time the old man woke up, Are was gone. After the grandson was lost, the grandparents immediately called the police for help, and at the same time mobilized relatives and friends to look around. Knowing that their son was lost, Mr. and Mrs. Liang, who were working in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, were very anxious.

For more than twenty years, the couple traveled around looking for them, but there was no whereabouts of Are. Are's grandfather traveled all over the country looking for the whereabouts of his grandson. On the way to find relatives, the family had hope, but they all ended in disappointment, but the belief in reunion never disappeared.

In February 2015, Mr. and Mrs. Liang came to the Criminal Police Brigade of the Tianhe District Public Security Bureau for help. The police collected their DNA information for the first time, sent them to the national public security organs to find the abducted/missing children system in a timely manner, and carried out a large number of searches, but unfortunately, no valuable clues have been found.

In December 2021, in accordance with the unified deployment of the Provincial Public Security Department and the Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Tianhe police re-reported Alei's photo to the Ministry of Public Security, and found Chen Mou, a Maoming person suspected of Beingy. The police officers in charge extracted Chen's DNA as required and sent it to the library, and Chen's sample was quickly compared to the missing Are.

Tianhe police immediately contacted Mr. and Mrs. Liang and Mr. Chen, reviewed and compared the DNA of both sides, and confirmed that Chen was Mr. and Mrs. Liang's son Alai, who was lost in 1996. The couple was overjoyed to hear the news.

Relatives reunited, Grandpa still kept the search notice of that year

Are, who was a child, is now an adult. "I wasn't impressed by what was going on at the time. But in my memory, I always feel that I lived by the railway when I was a child. When I received a call from the police, I was surprised. Alai said that his adoptive parents' family is also in Maoming, he has 5 sisters, and the family is very good to him.

At about 10 o'clock on January 13, Alai came to the Wushan police station early to wait, and the police prepared a recognition ceremony here. Mr. Liang, Ms. Deng, And Alai's grandfather and brother, Alai's biological parents, came to the scene, and the family hugged and cried, and their mood could not be calm for a long time.

"All these years, it has been so hard to find you, and I look forward to seeing you again in my lifetime every day." Are's grandfather took out the search notice and the photo of Are when he was a child. The search notice was made in 1996, and the paper had long since turned yellow with deep creases. Relatives told about Alay's childhood, and added WeChat and phone numbers to each other.

Subsequently, the handling police read out the appraisal documents to both sides, and Chen and Mr. Liang and his wife met the parent relationship.

The family presented a pennant to the Tianhe police to express their gratitude. "Without your help, we alone may never find our son." Thank you very much for bringing our family together. Mr. Liang said excitedly.

Since 2021, the Tianhe police have carried out in-depth "reunion" operations and made every effort to find missing abducted children. It is reported that since the launch of the operation, the Tianhe police have helped 25 families realize their dream of reunion. The police appealed that the "reunion" operation requires the joint participation of everyone, and if the public has any clues suspected of abduction or disappearance, they should actively provide it to the public security organs to assist in the search for missing abducted children. Parents of missing abducted children and suspected abductees can bring their id cards and household registration books to the public security organs for free DNA collection.
