Recently, the First Civil Trial Division of the People's Court of Luyuan District of Changchun City launched a circuit trial in a community and tried a special civil dispute. Under the mediation of the judge, the plaintiff and the defendant shook hands and made peace, and the compensation dispute involving two elderly people was successfully resolved.
In July 2021, when Han was chatting with his neighbors in a community in the Green Park, he had a verbal altercation with Sun because of disagreement. During the quarrel, Sun picked up a stool and injured Han, causing a two-centimeter wound at the mouth of the tiger in his left hand. After being handled by the police at the police station, Sun accepted the administrative punishment, but was unwilling to compensate Han for his losses.
For this reason, Han sued him to the Green Garden Court, demanding compensation for medical expenses, transportation expenses, lost work expenses and other losses totaling about 2,000 yuan.
The plaintiff in this case, Mr. Han, is 73 years old, and the defendant, Mr. Sun, is also 87 years old. Considering that the two elderly people had limited mobility, Judge Huang Xiaoying of the First Civil Trial Division took the initiative to serve the defendant with a summons for the opening of the trial and learned more about the case. By soliciting comments, the parties agreed to hold a hearing in the community at their doorstep.
In order to resolve the antagonistic emotions between the two sides, with the assistance of the community, the judge invited the residents of the community to observe. Under the witness of the old neighbors, after the judge's explanation of the law and the joint persuasion of the neighbors, the two sides gave a step and resolved the grievance. Defendant Sun compensated plaintiff Han for medical expenses and other losses totaling 500 yuan, and paid them in court, and the plaintiff Han withdrew his lawsuit.
Justice is for the people, and the truth is seen bit by bit. The circuit trial at the doorstep of the community is not only the court's active response to the diversified judicial needs of the masses and the relief of the people's worries and difficulties with practical actions, but also reduces the litigation burden of the parties, so that the two elderly people feel fairness and warmth in the trial of the case, and truly realize the trial concept of justice for the people.
